My sister drove up from Florida and we both had limited time. She was staying with other family in Hiram and we live in Rome. Therefore, we chose this spot as a halfway point to meet and spend some time together. Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful little gem of a BBQ joint, located down a side street in Rockmart. A real added bonus that it is just down the road from a quaint little park, part of the Silver Comet Trail system, complete with gentle winding creek, with easy cement walking paths to an obvious favorite local swimming hole and nature preserve wildlife habitat area. We really enjoyed visiting this area as well after eating here. But back to this location - šŸ˜€ The food was excellent! The meat cooked and seasoned Exactly as you expect and deserve in a great bbq place! The fries were nice and the onion rings were precisely as I love them! Thick cut vidalia most likely, fried to absolute perfection! We tried the peach cobbler. It was quite tasty, but we would've preferred it served warm, under a thick dollop of their delicious vanilla ice cream. However, they probably would have been happy to oblige us, if we had but asked, as the staff were all very pleasant and personable! I love art and so I will always check out the art and decor of a place. So many interesting things on the walls inside and out here, but my absolute fav was the carousel horse hanging from the ceiling! They do have indoor seating, but the outdoor seating area is so very nice that we chose to sit there instead. Being that it was covered was a real plus on this quite warm 80s day! I would say the only drawback was the one unisex toilet. Please don't get me wrong. I'm all for unisex facilities, it was just that it was busy that day and having 2 restrooms would definitely help. However, I do understand sometimes space is limited and you work with what you got. Other than that one tiny issue, everything was absolutely divine. We also met two dogs of fellow diners, while eating outside under the pavilion area! As we are dog sitters and adore all dogs, this was an added bonus for sure! Thank you for making a great memory for us! Blessings and continued success to you!

So I've been here twice now and both times the food and hospitality have been amazing. If you like ribs, get them. The pulled pork is excellent without bbq sauce, however they have two sauces that are excellent - they are thicker brown bbq sauces, one sweet with some vinegar and the other brings some heat and is my favorite of the two. There's no Carolina or Alabama sauces but don't let that stop you from coming in to try it out. Also, the sides are amazing as well. They're not you're standard side fillers...they could easily stand on their own. The bbq beans are killer and the toast they serve with the plate, man... FWIW my wife and I split the ribs and pulled pork plate and it was the perfect amount of food. Delicious. Highly recommend.

Yummy stuff. I got the slaw sausage with beans and date got the quarter chicken and pot salad. Special mention for the beans. Not your average pork and beans. Adds yummy yummy stuff to it(beans get their own picture. They're that good). Owner says he's going to start making his own sausage with natural casing. Should have a good snap to it. Pot salad was also good. Chicken was not dry. Went back and got the pork sandwich. Put a ton of sauce on there and I thought it was going to be a hot mess. Nope. Just a slight mess. Pork and bread soaked up the sauce. I put some french fries in there for good measure. Will be trying the brisket on the next trip. Figured a Yankee knows his pork, he might know the cow as well. Good eats.

I Ate here twice before I decided to review. 1st time: Food was great, but the customer service was AWFUL.Both the girl & man was rude from the jump. When I came up to the counter they acted like I was wasting their time. Since I had never been I wanted to read the full menu (written on a board & no one was behind me). A/w I still ordered $43 worth of food. Afterwards I didn’t receive a ā€œthanksā€ or ā€œhave a nice dayā€ NOTHING….A White lady came in the door as I was leaving & then i hear Heyyyyy, how are you doing ma’am!! 🄓 I’d like that same energy when I’m spending my hard earned money. 2nd time: my fiancĆ©, whom is white & I went last wk. Customer service was still not great but a little better. Food was trash complete though. We ordered brisket & it tasted like it was cooked 2 wks ago. To wrap this up….I’ll never eat there again or recommend them to anyone. They don’t seem to appreciate business from people of color. Weird b/c the owners are ā€œpeople of colorā€! I’ll eat at anyone’s restaurant with my mixed family, but I will be treated with curtesy & respect. Black, white,...

Lets sum it up here at the beginning. Just Damn! And I mean that in a good way. Order the pulled pork, brisket, stew and slaw. Brisket was spot on. Smoke ring was perfect, meat moist and some burnt ends thrown on the side. Every bite was a delight. Pulled pork was on point. The Stew had a great smokey taste. They were light on the sauce, which is awesome. The meat needs to speak for itself without sauce added. For those that like extra sauce its there for you to do so. I mean what's the point to smoke that meat for hours upon hours and not be able to taste that effort. Exotic doesn't need it. The meat spoke for itself. As far as service. Ron took our order, prepared our food, brought it to us, then ask us what we thought. Hit all the buttons. Hey, this is an old school BBQ place run by a grizzly bear. He's going to serve you up some great food but may not engage in any chit chat. You want good BBQ, come here. You want chit chat go to Cracker Barrel. Only thing I screwed up on is not ordering any ribs to try. A mistake I will fix in the...
