The Blume Sandwich $14 (4/5 NOMs) What the pile? Needed to satisfy some messy noming in Rockville. That is one very well packed pile of sandwich goodness. First bite in and things just start falling off and your whole face is covered in greasy messy things! Sometimes you just want to get messy to enjoying something great. Its a flavor explosion with soft and savory meaty combination. Its all about the meat here with hot pastrami and kosher hotdog. Topped with melted swiss cheese and super tasty cole Slaw. They sure love cole slaw at this deli. Not a cheap sandwich, but there is a lot going on in there and you are paying for it. So much going on in that mess, but you can still taste everything and enjoy each great topping. Make sure to ask for extra napkins, you will need them. Its probably a good idea to only eat half, eating whole thing will insure to place you into food coma.

Goldberg $12 (5/5 NOMs) Its meat overflow in my mouth. Get ready for some Brooklyn style sandwiches right here in Rockville. They truly master our favorite kind of sandwich, the messy pile of crazy slobbering. Bite into it and you can just taste giant pieces of roast beef meat with mozzarella cheese all over. Like most sandwiches here, they put lots of yummy coleslaw on top. We rarely like coleslaw, but here they got it just right. So hard not to finish the whole thing, but beware they are very heavy and might just put you in food coma heaven. One of our to go places...

Does this Deli even care about getting it right? That was certainly in doubt today when my husband came home with a deli tray which was my supposed order, But, the contents of the tray were NOT what I had ordered, nor was the amount for the correct number of people. With the guests arriving, I called to express my dissatisfaction. While the Deli offered up the missing items (there were several), the person on the other end never even asked for my name or phone number. As a result,

I had an incomplete tray which I had to supplement with the missing items and of course didn't look as nice or fit into the general look of the table; I was never convinced that the amount was indeed correct; It was obvious that no one realty cared because there was no apology forthcoming or any attempt to offer one. In fact, we were told to come and get the missing items because delivery would take too long. There would be no special delivery. We'd have to wait in line with everyone else.

Customers beware. Make whoever you order from read your order back to you although that doesn't guarantee it will be correct. With one positive and one extremely negative experience with this Deli, I'm inclined to go elsewhere. And, it's not as if there is a dearth of good Delis in Montgomery County, MD!

Two stars for the mistake but only one star for...

One average meal and one excellent meal recently average out as a 4 star review.

Average meal (on a Sunday night with very young staff behind the counter): Take-out pastrami sandwich had relatively little pastrami for the $14.00 price. Disappointing. No condiments (ketchup, salt) provided for the otherwise very good take-out French fries. Corned beef in the generously portioned Reuben was quite fatty. We hadn’t specifically ordered lean meat, but still... Suggest that patrons specify desired condiments and check their take-out for completeness before departing.

.**Excellent meal: Terrific tongue and a delicious Reuben, both high quality with generous servings of meat. Very good side of coleslaw.. Sandwiches served with sour pickles on the side. Satisfying and well-executed Jewish deli food.

**Setting: pleasant outdoor patio with socially distanced tables and table service warrants 5 stars.

*SUMMARY: Good traditional Jewish deli. When it’s “on”, Brooklyn’s is excellent. Outdoor patio is a pleasant and socially-distanced venue with table service— fine place to enjoy your deli meal. To ensure high quality, especially if you’re doing carry-out or delivery, pay an extra dollar for lean meat, specify what condiments you want with your order and, if you’re picking up, check your order for completeness,...
