We’re from NY and were visiting the area. I checked on Yelp for breakfast places and saw Bob’s had good reviews with affordable prices. I’m glad we went here! The decor is pretty bare bones, but very clean. I personally don’t care about decor, but maybe some do. As soon as we walked in, we had two wonderfully cheerful ladies greet us. We told them that we wanted to order takeout. They gave us some menus and took our order right away. We had a seat, waiting for our food and were asked by a couple of different waitresses if we had been helped. One asked us if we wanted coffee while we waited. There were probably about 6 occupied tables when we went, and it seemed like many might have been regulars just based on the conversations they were having with the waitresses. We heard a lot of “Hey Joe, how ya been?” type stuff. I love places like that. Our food came out super quick, less than 10 minutes. The ladies at the hostess stand who took our order made sure that we had everything we needed for condiments and plasticwear. Before we left we also picked up some apple bread that they were selling at the hostess stand for $6 a loaf. I’d definitely recommend it, it was delicious. Prices were super affordable, which is pretty much the main reason why we went there in the first place. We both got French toast and a side of home fries each. Both were very good but we both LOVED the home fries! We actually considered going in and ordering two more helpings lol! They were nice and crispy and were actually seasoned, unlike a lot of breakfast places that just give you bland home fries. If you’re looking for a great breakfast that won’t cost you a ton, give Bobs a try. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re...
Read moreMy recent visit to Bob's Coffee Shop for breakfast left me with mixed feelings, particularly regarding the Lumberjack Plate. The potato pancakes, which were more like well-seasoned home fries pressed into patties, were quite good, and the upgrade to Texas toast was a solid choice as always. However, the egg whites were disappointingly thin and lackluster. While the toast was enjoyable, the type of oil used was blah; having a choice, such as virgin olive oil, would have been a significant improvement to the dish.
What truly dampened the experience, however, was the service. We had to flag down our waitress several times just to get a refill for a small 6-ounce coffee cup. After she dropped off the bill, we were rendered completely invisible. She visited the adjacent table numerous times, yet she never once looked up or checked in to see if we needed anything else. This level of inattentiveness after the meal felt dismissive and unfortunately overshadowed the better parts of...
Read moreLet’s just take a moment to truly analyze this picture. I won’t address the frozen potatoes, hair in the food, fruit was old or the fact that we were redirected to sit in another seat in 2023 to accommodate two white men who weren’t even there and didn’t arrive until we were leaving. When I look at this toast I think wow, toast should have been the easiest thing to make. After all, the setting on the toaster is usually set to ensure you don’t burn it. So what does this mean? Did someone intentionally burn my toast? Did my waiter look down at the food to confirm it was mine before handing it to me? Horrible horrible food! I willl never eat here again. The waiter was nice, but the food was gross. Of the $50 we paid for breakfast I ate one piece of turkey bacon and drank coffee that was watered down. Never...
