20% gratuity added to each person's check all because we sat 6 to a table. I was not about to pay $17 for a tip when my food wasn't even cooked like I wanted. My wings were warm I dealt with it fries were soggy after I asked for them to be fried hard, sent them back. The sever was not ran back and forth. 10% tip added max but 20% is just being greedy. If you want the customers to pay your workers have better quality food. I didn't even eat the wings. And I used to be a regular mostly at the bar but never sat with 5 other people. The sever really wasn't worked because we all had appetizers and drinks so why would we pay her a $50 tip? She was still left a decent tip and we were still told not to come back. Which is fine with me. I'm still trying to understand how you skip over the 15% and jump straight to 20% when tips are courtesy. Not to mention some people don't even notice that the gratuity is already on the check, so they leave another tip. Also, the table around us were so close that we could've all been 1 table. Our server didn't go tipless, at all.
Did the Golden men, who were sitting right under us get charged a 20% gratuity person too? Like.... I mean everyone around us were sitting right up on us, the table of 7, 2 and 4? All we had was a small gap between us. But..... ok your food wasn't worth it. I was coming because of the bartender's vibe, that it all. 1st time getting a table. So... please tell me what is the difference between 6 people walking in getting a table and those same 6 people going to the bar with 1 server? The difference is the 6 people who decided to sit at 1 table gets charged a 20% gratuity while the same 6 people at the bar doesn't. .....
Make that make sense!
And another thing since that is your policy when your host sit the guest of 6, they should automatically tell them about the added gratuity because no one reads the cover of a menu especially if there's no food or drinks on it. You should also let people know that if they are paying with a card that it's an extra charge for that as well on in addition to the already added gratuity. My sister in-law's check would've been $73 or something close to that. After the gratuity was added it was around $93-$94, she had to pay with her card and was charged an additional $4 and change. So, tell me that...
Read moreWe have given 5 chances. My meal the same all 5 times, Reuben and Fry's. All 5 times the Fry's where stiff and cold. First Reuben was great but soggy on one side. 2nd Reuben bread was burnt and soggy. Third time I asked for the sauerkraut on the side, thinking I found the answer. Naw! Fifth time the sandwich with Sauerkraut on the side it was a soaked in grill grease ( that my waitress watched me try to soak it off with my napkin, which is a whole other kind of soggy. I did order a side salad this time knowing I didn't want to go home hungry if I was unfortunate enough to get another sad meal. I'd like to think I have given every chance possible for the cook to get it right. Was also hoping this would be that hidden treasure, whole in the wall, secret, go too, you share with your closest of friends. Just couldn't pull it off. The pick is the last meal from a couple days ago. Sadly can't find a reason to go back. We spent a lot of time, money and faith with a little prayer that this would be our spot. I failed to mention my son's way over cooked chicken wings to the point the meat was ptrefied and inedible. He usually eats the crispy chicken salad that has been flawless. So I know they get some things right. Not that this is for your pitty, but I'm stage 4 cancer and I struggle with food daily. Ruebens and how french frys are something that I love and can tolerate. It's the reason I gave so many chances. Thanks for listening and understanding. I wish no Ill will and I'm not angry. I think what we put out should be what we would give to our own...
Read moreSuper disappointed to wait 30+ mins with barely any acknowledgement. I went for the first time today after hearing great community reviews. Hostesses were lovely and told me to sit at a high top or low top wherever I felt most comfortable. I sat at a high top right in front of them and was passed by many, many times by servers who didn't acknowledge me. Over 15 mins to get a glass of sweet tea and not one person stopped to take my order or reassure me that a server was coming. I worked in the service industry in just about every capacity and was always taught to cover for my fellow servers and greet guests in a timely manner. The food looked and smelled delicious, but after watching numerous groups who entered after me being greeted and receiving their food while I was not acknowledged except a drink order I decided to find better service elsewhere and be waited on in a timely fashion. Overall a really disappointing experience and an awful first impression. I understand rushes, however my opinion is someone should have acknowledged my presence other than bringing a menu and silverware. I really wish I could say I was the only one with issues but I also overheard people at the table below me complaining they had to leave to attend a meeting and needed their order to go because of extended wait times. Had anyone acknowledged my wait time or checked in I would have been fine. But it seemed like bare minimum acknowledgement and I'm not sure if this is because single patrons tend to be less revenue or what...
