Great little diner! Exceptional value. This was a pleasant surprise on the 4th of July my wife and I took a drive through lake City and decided we would eat at little vols diner. A very pleasant surprise indeed. If the price of the food was any less it would be free my wife had a chef salad with grilled chicken and I mean it was loaded with tasty chicken $5.75 I had the special which was italian-style meatballs and penne it came with a cucumber and cherry tomato salad and onions which was absolutely delicious grilled garlic bread and I drank tea the place was very busy( a good sign) and it took a while for them to get the food to us but not a terrible amount of time. My wife liked her salad I did notice it was the variety that came out of a bag with grilled chicken added and tomatoes and my Italian style meatballs and panini I'm pretty sure it was frozen meatballs which I have used many times in my life but it was tasty in other words this is not a gourmet meal but it's absolutely delicious and the price is so reasonable the people are friendly I enjoyed this very much. I noticed the breakfast you can get two eggs toast or biscuit gravy and meat for $3.99 or you could add potatoes for $4.99 unbelievable prices and I have to believe by the crowd and the food I tasted that it's absolutely worth. it do yourself a favor and and visit lil vols diner oh by the way the wife and I are meals came in at just a few cents over $20 not darn bad the wife chef salad with chicken grilled chicken was $5.75 mine was $8.99 for the special and they charged us $1.75 for the sweet tea which was very...
Read moreI got taken there as a Mother's Day present t from my son, Connor Novak. We was pretty much forgotten about by our main waitress but she was also pretty busy. There was another waitress, she was also running the register ans bringing food out to other tables, she was checking on us pretty often. We had ordered a bowl of chilli for my son's hashbrowns and did not get it while we was eating, We went to pay and get change for the tip and the other waitress asked me If I wanted the chilli to go, I said yes that'll be great and also a to go box for the hashbrowns. The owner came over to that area and the waitress/cashier asked her if there was chilli ready she said yes and asked why and the waitress/cashier said that we had asked for chilli for our hashbrowns and never got it. The owner looked at me and said well, if it wasnt on the ticket then we wouldn't get it. The waitress said that I had asked for it after we first placed our order and received our food. Then owner then says the same thing while looking at me if it wasnt on the ticket then we wouldnt have known to get it. Then that's when the waitress stood up for me and says to the owner Do not talk to her like that. You could tell the owner wasnt too happy but the waitress was just try to do her job and still give us the chilli that we had asked for.. But other than that. The food was really good at decent prices and...
Read moreWell this was my second try at eating at this restaurant. I arrived on mother's Day hoping to have french toast two eggs and a meat. I entered the restaurant where there were six tables free. As I was waiting the servers, two female servers-- portly shaped with round faces were arguing about who's turn it was... got into a shouting match. I thought they were going to start shoving each other, if this happened I left before it did. I don't go out to eat to have that type of disruptive experience in a restaurant. Get rid of this staff. if it's family figure it out and fix it. perhaps they need to work in another environment. Perhaps they need to work in another place while they hewn people skills. Such a shame this restaurant should be thriving and providing exemplary guest care. The only other choices were a cracker barrel, McDonald's and gas station Pizza. The servers need to realize they are there for the guest or they should pretend to be. Instead of being there for themselves. If I wanted to see a beer bottle busting bar fight I would tune...
