went here a few weeks ago. the best tom yum I've ever had. only a couple issues. asked for no peanuts on a dish and when it arrived it still had peanuts so either the waitress forgot or the dish was already made and they weren't able to get all the peanuts out of it before serving it to me. ordered a chocolate milk for my daughter which we were charged for. when we explained this, instead of them taking it off the check they brought it to us in a to go cup (and it was literally white milk with a bunch of chocolate syrup in the bottom). after this a friend went to the front and explained we didn't want it since we were leaving anyway and they then agreed to take the $2+ drink off the check. but another problem with the check was there was four of us and we wanted separate checks, instead she just split the check four ways which bothered everyone but we paid. i feel like she just didn't remember what each of us ordered. She was VERY nice though and we did tip despite the mistakes. And all the food was delicious.
HOWEVER. The reason I write this review is because today (sunday, may 29th) I drove well out of my way to get some lunch (per the website indicating open) when I called ahead there was no answer that should have been a red flag (but as some other reviews state, there is often an issue with being seated promptly so I thought maybe someone was just busy or not out front. when I got there the door was locked and the place was dark. no sign saying why it was closed, just a hours sign taunting me and indicating they should be open. So I wasted my afternoon driving to a a restaurant that was closed without notice. I don't know if it was because of the holiday or what but I will definitely ask for an explanation if I go back, and I hope to because the food really was good. I will give 3 stars for now and will update if any...
Read moreFood is good, but service is terrible. Also, the owner was not very nice and pushy. Food is expensive, especially the one in Maple Grove. Also, the portion of food is very small. My family and I stop eating here and ordering takeouts because of an incident that happened. This happened last year around November. I had a takeout order which consisted of mostly chicken. When my family were eating the food, my daughter (7 yrs old) chewed onto a piece of metal that was in the chicken in the fried rice. At this time USDA had recalled chicken due to possible metal contamination. I quickly called the restaurant and told them about it. Being a responsible parent, we threw away the rest of the food (that contained chicken) and gave the metal strip piece to the restaurant (I took a picture). I was told that I was going to get a full refund for my order (~$55). A couple of days later, I found out that they only refunded me for the fried rice. I called the restaurant for an explanation and was told that the owner was going to contact me. After several attempts, the owner never called me back. I’m very disappointed about it. I tried to give the restaurant a chance to make it right. So we have decided to no longer eat/order here. If you are looking for a great authentic Thai restaurant, try the one in Osseo. It is called Reuan Thai Restaurant. Food are so much better, delicious. Great service, fair price and you get a good...
Read moreVery weird dining experience especially from the owner, Randy Carstensen. I had a craving for Good Thai food and was hoping to be good. It was OK. In the Yellow Curry Dish they added onions to the dish. I told him it was Unique and had address I never saw "Onions" used in Thai Dishes especially curry dishes. He seemed to be a bit offended about it but I did not start any ugly confrontations since he asked me. I did NOT say it was terrible either. He insisted that in Thailand the used onions but I myself have been to Thailand and never experience the use of the ingredient Onions. He said they do in Bankok and I have been to Bankok and never experience eating their too. A bit weird in conversation. I was gonna give him tip but he seemed ticked off at me. I told him I might come back but now I am having 2nd thoughts of regret. Also claims this new religion called being a "Hebron" because of his bearded appearance. I asked him them if he was Jewish and he said no since he was a "Hebron". Anyways it was a weird experience in means of the owner's touch of reality. Also ready other reviews of diner's experiencing his flaky behavior carrying a gun. I did not see it but being a judgmental person I can imagine it as well as Not to mention him running a Thai restaurant with other locations. Not sure 3 stars are good but the Curry did have the signature taste besides sliced onions. Just beware of your dining experience and...
