Greasy eggs, bitter coffee, overly crispy bacon, and and nothing but old white guys eating there is exactly what I expected when I walked into this local looking, somewhat run-down cafe for breakfast. This place completely surpassed my expectations and in a good way! The eggs were perfectly prepared without being overcooked, undercooked, or greasy. The hash browns were just as perfect and I didn't see any grease under them; much less a pool of it. The only issue that I could take with the food would be the bacon. It was not too crispy like I expected, but I also think that it was turkey bacon. Which is healthier for you but not as preferable for me as pork. As for the coffee, it was wonderfully brewed without being either too strong or too weak and definitely was not (as I had thought it would be) bitter. Not only was the coffee tasty, but the waitresses did a good job matching my pace (granted I empty the cup a bit slower than most). What I especially appreciated however, was that while they were pouring the coffee, they used their hand to shield my one year old from any potential vagrant splashes. This was a consideration for her that I didn't even think of and the extra effort was greatly appreciated. Finally, as regards the clientele; I was (once again) expecting mostly old white men and truckers to eat here. I also read one of the previous reviews here and the reviewer gave one star because of all the racist comments he heard. While I was here, not only did I not hear racist comments but I also saw an African American couple, a Hispanic family, and several Asians eating here. I would strongly recommend the previous reviewer to rate a place as a whole, not only who frequents there, and to not judge the whole place by just a few bad apples. In conclusion, I am always highly practical in my reviews and rarely give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement. This place has thoroughly earned my fifth star however and I am sure that I will...

they were packed the Sunday before memorial day, which had us eating at the bar by the register. we had our orders taken and our food came out without too much of a wait despite the crowd. I'm not sure who got started first, w. house or w. hut, but I ordered my w. house regular, a chicken patty melt and dbl. hash browns. it was good and all, but there's something about w. house cheese, seasoning, and the oil they use. it's just better. if they took cards as payment I'd give 4 stars. I'd give another half star if I could, because when it was time to pay I had 0 cash and had forgotten my debit card at home anyway. one of the waitresses offered to buy our food and that's the kind of southern kindness this world needs more of. I live just down the road, so I went back with cash and a good tip for their help and understanding. that said, the food I had wasn't bad, but house takes the win. I'll go back just because there are on obviously good people working there, and that trump's most anything for me. the food only carries a place so far. the people and the service have to make up the difference, and that's what happened on my trip. good job guys. the food just needs some pizzazz to make it memorable. thank you all for trusting a stranger to do the right thing. see...
