UPDATE #5: Sunday, May 11, 2025. We had a birthday gathering there last evening. What a great time! Great food, beautiful surroundings! And our hostess Lisa helped make it a wonderful time! Acambaro is back! Our best wishes to the Reyes family, and to the entire staff!
UPDATE #4: Friday, November 29, 2024. Besides being professionally remodeled after the May tornado, they now have all new CUSTOM tables, chairs, and booths. It is worth the trip there just to see all of this! The food is great! And the staff, my friends, are eager to show you their "new" store, and to serve you your favorite dishes! Please visit their store at 8th & Poplar, Rogers soon, and tell them Bill & Linda sent you!
UPDATE #3: Sunday, September 8, 2024 They are back, and they are open for business! Lunch there was like a trip back home! The original staff is there and anxious to get things running again! It is so good to see them back and well!
And you have to see what they have done inside! A beautiful remodel that really catches your eye. They have been busy!
All I can say is, YOU HAVE TO GO THERE! Please welcome them back! They are an important part of Rogers, and a great restaurant with great people.
Welcome back Acambaro Rogers!!
UPDATE #2: We dearly miss our weather torn Acambaro! This has left a huge hole in our hearts! We worry for all of our friends there, and look forward to seeing them again when the store re-opens! Your friends, The Jays
UPDATE #1: Still the best restaurant in town, after 20 years of dining there regularly. They opened June 4, 2003, we started eating there June 14, 2003.
"Best Mexican restaurant in town, and my favorite restaurant period. Great service, especially if treated with respect. I eat there often and have never (since 2003) found anything foreign in my food, or had a bad glass of tea. Staff has tried to teach me Spanish, but I'm not that smart. Their hot salsa is very good, especially with fresh, hot chips. Tell them Bill...
Read moreWas called a liar and dismissed. I ordered a meal and asked for the queso to be contained separate because I have a dairy allergy and my friend does not. I ordered a large guacamole for myself since I can’t have dairy and wanted a special treat. When we got our order home I opened what Acombaro calls a large guacamole(which is only 4 little table spoons of guacamole) and the guacamole had a huge heap of shredded cheese in it. Not a huge deal as restaurants commonly make mistakes on allergy request. Instead of being treated with care and them being apologetic about their mistake the woman I spoke with instead accused me of lying, told me that I didn’t make them aware of my dairy allergy when I ordered and therefore they would not refund it or exchange it. (Very odd accusation since the rest of my $40 order had all of the queso separated... just as I had requested) the woman I spoke with said her name was Maria, the woman who took my order was Isabella and the managers name was Jessica (not sure if that’s true) She originally told me that I could drive up there to speak to the manager and then when I asked to speak to the manager instead she told me the manager was not there. Would give no stars if I could. I don’t know a single person with a serious allergy that would not make a restaurant aware of their allergy when ordering and for a restaurant to accuse someone of lying about something like this to get a $4 guac removed from their...
Read moreThe recipe quality has gone down hill and the building has become dilapidated to such a point that it may be well below health and building safety code minimal standards. Concrete work near exterior entry was substandard and is a trip and fall hazard. A light fixture was seen unsecured on one side, giving way to potentially land on a table or may swing towards a walkway possibly hitting a handful of people. Sheetrock was falling from the ceiling just a few feet from that potentially from water damage. Ceiling fans on outside porch were interior fans, not approved for exterior use, and have been moisture damaged and fan blades we're hanging unable to be used safely. Lastly, a fire exit was blocked off with a large plant and "Not a Exit" sign was taped on. Waitress was polite enough to continue her work professionally but seemed disgruntled on a personal level. This building doesn't just need to be just brought back up to code but may require complete renovation to...
