A Hidden Gem in Rhonert Park - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Better Oaxaca, and I must say, it was an experience worth writing about. Nestled in a charming, albeit slightly dated shopping center in Rhonert Park, this restaurant is a hidden gem that serves some of the most mouthwatering Mexican cuisine I have ever had.
My taste buds were treated to the Quesabirria - a delightful ensemble of three scrumptious birria tacos, generously filled with cheese. The tortillas were fried on the grill, which gave them a lovely, slightly crispy texture and a deliciously oily flavor. The combination was simply perfect.
To accompany the tacos, I was served a cup of consome, perfect for dipping and enhancing the already flavorful dish. The salsas were vibrant, fresh, and spicy, and they outshone many other Mexican restaurants and food trucks I have frequented. In fact, Better Oaxaca's salsa ranks second only to El Roys in my book. The harmonious blend of spicy and sour from the salsa and lime provided a beautiful contrast to the salty, savory braised beef.
I was truly impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the warmth of the service at Better Oaxaca. The staff were friendly and made me feel right at home. While the location might be slightly tucked away in the shopping center, do not let that deter you from trying their incredible food.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Rhonert Park and are in the mood for authentic, delicious Oaxacan cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to Better Oaxaca. Your taste buds...
Read moreI like eating here. The food is high quality and the flavors are really good.
Both the red and green sauces here are straight up fire🔥 Bright on the flavor, and just the perfect amount of heat. Salsa cups: 5/5
I tried their carnitas and carne asada tacos today. I liked the carnitas the best- the meat was somehow moist and juicy but also crunchy at the same time. The barbacoa and birria are also good. Quality of their meats: 5/5
The tortillas here are amazing. They get a 6/5 because the tortillas here taste just like they do outside of the US. They're definitely not using store bought tortillas here. Whoever their supplier is makes the best tortillas I've tasted in the bay area. 6/5.
Even the chips here are good. Chips are never stale, and are the perfect thickness with a really good crunch. Once again, good choice on their supplier here.
Overall, I really like eating here. I love that they serve their tacos here with shredded cabbage, and I love how perfect the tortillas taste.
I haven't tried anything other than the tacos yet, but based on what I had so far, it seems like they do a very good job here. Compliments to the cooks who must be very proud...
Read moreAmazingly authentic. The outside looks very unassuming but don’t let that fool you. This is the best Mexican food in Sonoma County that we’ve found in over a year searching for something that meets our San Diego standards. The pride and attention to detail is evident throughout the meal. Look at the presentation of the fish tacos. The cabbage was sliced super thin which is exceedingly rare to find, but was an immediate tell as to the quality of this place.
Hailing from San Diego, my wife and I judge Mexican restaurants by their fish tacos and their California burritos.
My California burrito also passed the test with flying colors. It was huge, perfectly toasted on the outside, the carne asada was expertly seasoned, and it was the perfect mixture of fries to meat.
There was a cheese sauce inside which is not traditional but we are in NorCal after all so I chalk it up to an acceptable and delicious spin on a San Diego classic.
It was a little slow this particular Saturday afternoon so the owner came out to chat with us and he is very proud of his restaurant. For...
