Cotati Hardware — Local services in Cotati

Yesterday July 22 at 4pm I had a very upsetting experience in the store. I brough in 2 very small window screens that I had replaced 1 year ago at this store . They belonged to my camper which I had used only around 10 days during that time period. Part of both screens came undone at the edges since they where cut too close to the rubber strip that holds them in. They needed to be put back in.They where NOT torn. It was not due to a fault of mine.

When I ask for the Screen Repair emplyoyee I was told that he was not in. I had window screens replaced by him before and the work was always done very weii. I also had met the Screen Repair emplyoee in the past when I had work done. He always did an excellent job and is a very nice man.

The cashier told me I had to pay again. When I explained that I don't feel I should be charged again since it was of no fault of mine he turned to an other employee by the name of RALPH. (in case there are more employees by that name it was the Ralph with the strong accent). I don't know if he was the manager or just a regular employee. Ralph was VERY RUDE saying "it is the policy of the store that, as soon as something leaves the store, it is no longer guaranteed". When I mentioned that this is very bad customer service he repeated it.

Employees like Ralph should not be in a position do deal with the public. He is very rude. The store has lost a permanent customer in me because of him and I will make sure to ...

I go to True Value to support the local retailers. The store is more expensive, but it's local and convenient. The last time I went in, the women was not very nice, and not user freindly. There never are many people shopping, but the employees make you feel that you are a bother. I have worked with the public for over 45 years. Your store, all employees, but maybe 2, need customer service work. They need training. The receipt I have has the name Sam as the associate, but I don't think that was the lady's name. Rude! She needs to not work with the public or change her attitude. Very dissatisfied with the service that I receive there. I will stop by, 1 or 2 more times to see if it's better. Ive shopped there for many years and it's gone down hill each time I go. It's too bad. I hope you know, bad service travels faster than...

I have been to the TrueValue in Cotati many times. For me, a hardware store is like Chuck E. Cheese is to a 7 yr. Old. The Cotati TV is no exception. I have bought tools, paint, tile adhesive and grout, base board, screw, nuts bolts, hinges, cleaning suplies, plimbing fixtures, a flashlight, sandpaper and had a screen repaired. The building is deceptively large. It appears small on the outside. It is smallish when compared to the big box home improvement places but.contains almost anything you might need. Because it is not huge, you can find what you need without hiking boots and a map. They close at 6:30pm which sucks. Other than that, the place is...
