I’m usually not one to come online and bash a restaurant, especially one that I used to enjoy. But after multiple disappointing experiences at this particular Pancheros location, I feel the need to finally speak up.
Over the past month, I’ve accidentally walked into this location more than once (mistaking it for another), and somehow—every single time—I’ve been greeted (if you can even call it that) by the same employee. From what I’ve been told by someone else working there, this guy is either a manager or holds some type of authority… which honestly makes it even worse.
He’s a shorter man with a goatee, and every time I’ve encountered him, his energy has been off. Not only is he loud and rude when talking to customers, but he seems to talk down to both guests and staff alike. When I walked in this last time, he greeted me with what I can only describe as an aggressive tone—no “hi,” no smile, no welcome—just attitude. It felt like I was bothering him by walking in.
After I told him what I wanted, he didn’t even bother making it himself. He turned to another employee, told them to make it, and then just walked off without a word to me. As I moved down the line, I tried to shake it off and just focus on getting my food, but before I could even pay, he came back around the corner and started yelling at the cashier—right in front of me and a couple other customers. It was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. You could literally feel the tension in the room.
This isn’t just a one-off issue. I’ve tried to let it go multiple times, thinking maybe he was having a bad day or maybe I caught him at the wrong moment. But at this point, it feels like a pattern—and I can’t be the only customer who’s noticed this behavior. It’s incredibly disappointing to be treated this way when you’re paying for a meal, especially in a place that should feel casual and welcoming.
I want to make it clear that the other employees I’ve interacted with have been nothing but kind and respectful. They’re trying their best, and you can tell some of them seem on edge around this guy. That’s really telling. No one should be talked down to like that—customer or coworker.
Pancheros as a chain has always been one of my favorite places to grab something quick and filling. But this specific location has really made me reconsider coming back at all. I don’t know what’s going on with the management here, but something needs to change. No one should feel anxious or disrespected just for walking into a restaurant to grab a bite to eat.
I hope this reaches someone who can actually make a difference, because customers (and employees) deserve better than this kind...
Read moreFood does taste good, but for the price, I always leave this place feeling hungry. It is that feeling of being fooled, paying around $15 for a meal and still feeling hungry, and I am a skinny guy. I think the servers are instructed to be frugal when serving, and they measure the amount of rice as if they were serving you gold. Also, paying $2.50 extra or so for queso is a stab! The tacos? You can only order 2 or 4, not 3! (does this even make sense from a business perspective?). That is, either you pay a lot for 2 tacos and still feel hungry or pay A LOT for 4, and feel full and stuffed. I just think this place needs some better guidance from corporate, given that a lot of people like Pancheros from other locations. I avoided at least 3 times going to this one in Rolla because of all of the above. The rice grain counting ended up costing way more, I think... Lastly, turn the AC and the volume of the music a little bit down/lower, it is often freezing cold and extremely loud even to hold a normal...
Read moreI work at a local restaurant. One of my regular customers raved about the food here. I finally stopped by with my son after work, and placed a pick-up order. We decided to eat on the patio. My son went in to grab the food. The first thing he commented on was the welcome he recieved.... Non scripted and genuine. So, out of the gate, we were already intrigued. Then we tried the food... Oh Bee Gee Ba's! It was absolutely divine!! I got a steak burrito, my son got steak tacos, we also got chips, queso and the cilantro lime sauce. This is the 1st burrito I have had, outside of making them myself, that had all the goodies in every bite!!! All fresh and delicious!! For a chain restaurant, they have it going on!! I had to go in and thank the staff. A shout out to those who made, prepared and served our food, Preston, Cas, Isaiah, Mikayla, and Leto!!!! Great all around experience. Thank you...
