Clean and modern place, with good quality food made with good ingredients, classy and thoughtful planning done not only for meal presentation but for the layering of the food, heck they even give you insulated bags for carry out.
I prefer out of personal interest the chashu don rice bowls over Ramen which they do serve, my only gripe is the lack of variety for not only vegan options but classic options for other kinds of rice bowls, they could easily add classics that every izakaya I've been to has for non Ramen options like Oyakodon (Chicken and egg rice bowl aka mother and child bowl) Tanin Don (Beef egg rice bowl) Hayashi rice(Or some kind of authentic is curry rice) etc and I think doing so would only enhance the experience there.. Generally that's my only gripes as a clean and good place like this personally for me as an man who has seen some of the world is hard to come by in rolla which some can say is somewhat of a food desert.
While one could argue "Why go to a Ramen place advertised for Ramen not general Japanese cooking for non Ramen meals?" Please bear with me, but if I am going for carryout long distance over gravel or dirt roads in my case at some point a soup will likely bang up against something or spill if I am unlucky, like I said out of personal interest and opinion if I am not dining there rice bowl all the way, that is not to say that their Ramen is lacking, in fact its great and they even really go all out on it..
Adding more vegetarian options and Japanese rice dishes I very much think would only add to this place, plus many of the dishes I mentioned can probably be made using ingredients they already stock on hand for non vegetarian options.
Overall, great place, give it a try if you can get...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious. Their Tonkatsu Ramen is faintly Creamy and has a wonderful Umami flavor. Their pork is so tender its hard to even pick up with chop sticks as it practically crumbles into flavor flakes into the bowl. THE CHASCHU BUNS ARE AMAZING!! I know pork belly is pricey but my only wish because of how fluffy and cloud like the bun is, is that there was more for the price. Whatever spices are used in the seasoning of the pork belly is Absolutely decadent. Will be back even if its just to indulge in their assortment of boba teas. Highly recommend the Strawberry-Lime Green tea if you love the flavor of green tea and a punch in the face of robust fruity flavor. Thai milk tea is light, Creamy, and the brown sugar pearls provide a delicious and chewy texture that pairs very well with the Tonkatsu Ramen. Wonderful little date night location. Heavy for a lunch option personally; but so...
Read moreHonestly I settled for this place after the only pho restaurant in town didn’t open till 4. But I’m glad it was closed because I gained a chance to try some Japanese ramen cuisine, which I’d never had before in my life. The closest thing I’ve had to this was a ramen cup, and I wouldn’t count that as Japanese. I came here, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing (as you expect Japanese to be). No one was here at the time so I ordered at the front desk, and got my food within 5 minutes. But it was of the quality of food that would take 30 minutes would be. The presentment of the food and the taste was beyond rich. I tried the wakame salad and was impressed I actually liked seaweed salad. If you want fair priced healthy nourishment in a relaxing atmosphere I’d recommend this place. The only thing I’d recommend to the owners are some true Japanese music to complete the atmosphere. Highly...
