Mi Centenario Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Roscommon Township

I really wish I could rate this place better because it has all the potential to be great but, really can’t. The inside is small yet cute however, the service takes forever and I mean forever. We weren’t even acknowledged for quite some time and it actually took me going up to the hostess station to ask if we could simply just get water and chips & salsa. It also took forever to even get a waiter to order food and had to ask if our cheese appetizer was ever coming out. Our food started to arrive 1hr and 18 mins later from when we arrived. Yes, we were a large party (10 for a birthday dinner) but, only some of us got our food and then mins later more of us and then mins later the rest. The receipts are terribly confusing. New place in Houghton Lake which needed a place for mexican besides Taco Bell. It was busy but no waiting for a table. We were seated and were given some chips n salsa. Nothing special about them. Got drinks(water) and the waiter took our order, took a bit but not too long. The waiter bought my order and literally waited 10 minutes for my wife's order. I had the Fajitas and they were average. But I was not provided with any tortillas. He bought them AFTER they bought my wife's order. He NEVER checked on us or got a water refil. We sat there for about 15 minutes waiting for a box and bill. Another waitress bought us a box and I went to the register to pay as we had to get home. I shared my concerns with the mgr and paid the bill and did not leave a tip. A tip is earned, not automatic. The service was horrible. Though the place was relatively busy it took over ten minutes just to get drinks alone. The coke machine was down and they resorted to giving out water to customers. The staff kept disappearing and when the food finally arrived it was mediocre at best. The food was cold and was tasteless. The rice had hardly any flavor and all the food seemed thrown together on a plate with hardly any effort. The Fajitas for two was disappointing, there was not quite enough for two people and it was cold like the rest of the dishes. The small plate of sides was disappointing as well, the refried beans were cold and looked sad and the Pico was put in a minuscule little cup.
