My husband and I use to always love going here taco tuesdays were always the best. We stayed away for a while because the service has been very mediocre but decided to try it again this past week with some friends. At first our waitress was great, we got our drinks and appetizers pretty quickly. Our second round took a little longer and although the waitress refilled everyone’s beers at the table she never once refilled my water, and did not come around enough for me to ask for a refilll. We waited quite some time for our food and when it was brought out only 3 of us received our meals and a different waitress explained that my husbands food would be out in a couple of minutes. We decided to start eating thinking his food would be out shortly. Beginning our meals our other friend said his food was cold, but no waitress came by to check on how we were doing so we continued to eat. 20 minutes later my husband still did not receive his food, and no one had came to communicate with us about the status of his dinner. We had mostly finished our food at this point, so we opted to not except his meal which never even came out and they comped that on our bill. However as we walked out one of the two waitresses we had through out this awful experience was enjoying her dinner which she was able to get, but we as paying customers were not able to get all of our food. One of the worst service experiences we have ever...

We stopped for lunch here the other day and are way, very glad we did.

The M55 Pour House, on (of course) M55 in Houghton Lake is a great stop for lunch or dinner. (We didn't see a breakfast menu, so we're guessing they don't serve it, but we could be wrong.) The inside is your basic Northern Michigan pine scheme, but it's well done and serves to make the place that much more Homey. They've got a pool table and what appears to be a good stage/dance floor setup though it was thankfully quiet at lunch time.

We pretty much had the place to ourselves, being a weekday morning and Richie, our server was very attentive and friendly. Our food was quick in coming and piping hot. While the seasoned fries aren't particularly seasoned, they're well done, crispy and tasty. The burgers looked juicy, cooked to order and delicious. My Rueben sandwich was outstanding and just too big to finish. (That's okay, I can deal with leftovers, just fine!) So, obviously portion size is not a problem here.

The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated, at least partially and was clean, fully functional and big enough for more than one person. Always a plus.

We walked away with a smile, full bellies and a tab that didn't break the bank. Pretty dang good, in my book and I'm fairly confident it will be in your book too....

This place will soon be called the “poor” house if they continue with this type of service. Also, I hate that I have to write such a terrible review during a pandemic but this blew my mind.

I'm writing this review as a patron but with the mindset of a waitress. In what world, can you not handle; not being busy and having only 8 customers in the place. We stopped in on our way back home, first time in. Waited at least 15 minutes before the waitress wasn't super busy to take our drink order. Even though I don't think anyone in there had a clue what she was doing because it seemed we weren't the only ones waiting. When we were finally asked what we would like to drink, my husband and I ordered the same exact drink. Took her at least another 10 minutes before she brought the sodas we ordered. Then when we finally take a drink, mine wasn't even right. We both ordered regular sodas and I received a diet. At that point we were done and left. How in the world do you get the same order WRONG ?! I suppose it might have helped if she took her time with customers and wrote things down especially being the only waitress.

I will be posting this on other review sites because the owner needs to know about this service. I would be completely embarrassed if this was my...

The Pour House menu is as diverse as it can get. However- if you are looking for a hidden gem, I recommend getting the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. This is not on their menu, but it is always prepared when my boyfriend and I request it. The chicken is the perfect size, hand-battered, and tossed in buffalo sauce. Need I say more??? .... I think so, because this is THE spot in Houghton Lake. The vibe is awesome - just how it should be for a restaurant up north. Live bands on the weekends, as well!! *** Warning ⚠️*** These pictures may encourage you to make the drive up. If this is the case, I say do it!!!!!

Food was very good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. I had seen a picture on the Google Maps information page showing a picture of a Monte Cristo sandwich that I was looking forward to trying. I didn’t see it on the menu so I asked our server if they still have have them. She said that it’s not on the menu anymore, and then said if that’s what you want. Friendly and accommodating staff, good food and drinks, lots of televisions to watch your favorite sports teams.
