San Isidro Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Roselle

The restaurant's interior design was like someone is trying too hard to make the place look Mexican. Almost eye-soring. They had two huge sound boxes near the entrance. When we entered the restaurant, music was off. Except us, there was one other couple waiting for their food. The waitress thought let's play loud Mexican mariachi music. I have never been a fan of mariachi. The loud version of mariachi was nothing but ear-soring and made our rest of the time in the restaurant unpleasant.😵😡

Now let's get to the food. They offer complementary chips and salsa. Their red salsa was really tasty & spicy and green salsa was not spicy but fresh testing. We ordered beef enchiladas with red sauce, chilli relleno and a side of jalapenos. Both of the dishes came with rice and beans. Hubby liked his beef enchiladas but my chili relleno lacked seasoning. Rice and beans both lacked seasoning. It was like eating something tasteless! 😓

Mex-cellent! ;) Homemade goodness! Welcoming decor! Excellent service! I've tried almost every taco they offer including their Birria Taco from the specials menu and they're huge and delicious! They provide at least one big lime slice per taco and plenty of salsa rojo (a little spicy) and verde (milder). The crispy chips from their complementary Chips & Salsa are nice and crunchy- not oily. Their Horchata's so addictive and refreshingly tasty. My kids loved their Chicken Wings and Fingers with really good and plenty of fries and the rest of fam enjoyed their dishes. We were too full to get dessert but I'm sure it's just as yummy as everything else. Overall, a fabulous little fiesta!

Food was so bad. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and chicken flautas and the curly headed waitress got it wrong. When I got my plate it was cheese flautas no biggie so I called her over told her that I ordered chicken instead of cheese then proceeds to tell me no you ordered cheese quesadilla and cheese flautas as if I didn’t know what I ordered and she wanted to be right. Maybe if she had a pen and paper she could’ve gotten it right. Had to wait a good minute my brother finished his food before me and when I finally got it I was truly disappointed. Rice was super mushy and chicken was overly cooked to the point it was hard on the edges and tasteless! I tried adding some spicy green sauce to help it but I couldn’t even finish.
