Very disappointed in the way I was treated today. I always come here for breakfast and order the Breakfast eggs platter with turkey bacon, spinach, and cheese. The last two times Iâve been here they have gotten my order wrong. The first time I was given turkey sausage instead of turkey bacon. When I informed the owner who rang my order in that day he stated âyou told me turkey sausageâ and seemed annoyed at having to remake it. Today was the same situation all over again, except they served me turkey instead of turkey bacon this time. When I again informed the owner who was working the register when I placed my order he again stated âyou told me turkeyâ and took the plate and walked off. They only print out a copy of your payment but not your actual order on the receipt so I had to ask the owner if he had a way to see what I ordered. He begrudgingly printed my order and it read âTurkey Baconâ. He handed it to me and before I could continue speaking to him he walked away. When he came back he said âyes yes turkey bacon we bring to your table go go kitchen make mistake.â I am not so much upset at the mistake as I am the way the owner treated me. He stated he was too busy to talk because he was short staffed. I came to sit down at my table and the ownerâs wife came to ask if everything was okay. I informed her that I did not mind the kitchen making a simple mistake but what upsets me is the owner turning his back to me in the middle of me trying to explain my order was placed correctly. I asked her to speak to him about his customer service and she said okay Iâll have him come back. He came to my table and said âI am sorry it was kitchen mistake but I told them to fix when you complain.â I informed him that I am okay with the kitchen making a mistake but having customer service and restaurant experience myself as a manager or owner your job is to speak with the customer to make sure they feel heard. I informed the owner that I canât help but think if I looked older or if I came in with a suit and tie I would have been treated differently. The owner simply stated âno its just a waste of time for me to talk to you when I need to speak with the customers.â I informed him I was also a paying customer but simply put the way I was treated made me feel like I was not worth even 5 minutes. Again, this is not a complaint against the kitchen but the owner and the way he handled this situation. I do not think I will be back because of the way I was...
Read moreThis is a great little cafe. Contrary to a previous review with its unnecessary pejorative remarks, the food is quite good. While a few things may be pre-made, most are not. Their sandwiches are great, their pasta salad is awesome, their soups are excellent, and their breakfast is just right. They also have a good variety of desserts (though since it is a "mom and pop" place, they are not changed out daily like corporate joints can afford to do). The coffee is excellent and they have a good variety (4 each day but switch the days' coffees out). The owners are a local family, which automatically makes me want to go there instead of some corporate chain, and they really get to know and care about their customers. It is a perfect example of a great little "mom and pop" place. My wife and I are there weekly at least, as are many of their other customers. The busiest times are weekday lunches because lots of locals make that their weekly meeting place. Late afternoons and evenings are more quiet, as well as Saturdays...
Read moreIf based on the coffee alone, Iâd say five stars. Donât get me wrong, 4 stars is amazing, solid. Definitely recommended. I found this place comfy, cozy, safe, and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly, inviting. So, whatâs the rating about?
This is a smaller selection of coffee and foods some might find lacking for a brunch style establishment. I can see where some people may have trouble picking out something that suits their dietary needs. Might be good for the management to consider more vegetarian and vegan options - and Iâm not suggesting a fancy and expensive experience. Various oats, grits, yogurts, parfaits.
Now, I might have missed that on the menu since I skimmed - and Iâll happily update to 5 stars if I find out Iâm wrong about the variety.
Other than that? Keep up the amazing service! Thank you for providing such a lovely Sunday brunch.
Sorry, no food pics, was enjoying the quiet meal and convo time so much...
