My sister & I went to the University Blvd. Sonic for several root beer floats. Our server was very polite and professional. Our orders were delivered within 5 minutes of ordering (there was only 1 customer there beside us). Although, when we received our floats, we were very disappointed with the floats. There was 90% root beer and 10% ice cream. Sonic used to put in more ice cream than root beer, that is what had us going back. Now, there's so much skimping. Not only do they skimp with their floats, but the tatter tots are also less than what fits in the container. They have also closed their drive thru, so customers who are looking for a quick meal pick-up are also disappointed, because now they have to park, in order to place an order. I'm sure they leave and find another drive thru, to give their business to. Sonic will loose their customers to the other ice cream establishments and resturants in the area, if they continue to skimp on their product and close their drive thru. Their product is no longer the same. It does not compare to the other Sonic drive ins near us. The product is over priced for the amount we get. The large rootbeer float cost us $4.79 each. We could have purchased a gallon of ice cream for what 1 float cost us...but we wanted to patronize our local Sonic and keep their establishment open, especially when Dairy Queen is offering great products at reasonable prices & a fast drive thru, with friendly service. When my sister & I went in to talk to the manager about the floats, she said that that's the way the floats are supposed to be. She said she just took over management....I see...she is making terrible management decisions that will eventually cost Sonic to loose their loyal regular customers, and probably have to close down like the restaurant beside them. Read moreUpdate: It’s been eight years since I’ve originally left my review of this location, and it’s disappointing to see what’s happened to this place. In the last eight years I’ve probably visit about six or seven times, each time to only drive away because I could not get served. I have seriously waited at the drive thru to place an order and sat for over 5 minutes waiting for someone to take an order. This issue has only been exasperated by the staffing shortage during and after the pandemic. Avoid at all costs.
You'll find a Sonic on practically every corner in Texas and this one is just like you'd expect. Good burgers, perfectly mixed slushies, and delicious tots. We visit this location more than the others and perhaps that's why we have the most challenges with this location. My son cannot have certain things on his food, so when we attempt to order anything that is different than what typically comes on the food we seem to have issue. I'm not sure if their intercom system doesn't work right, but our orders are usually incorrect when we do order special. I've seen an improvement over the last few months, but there have been a handful of times, I've become so frustrated with the person taking our orders in the drive-through that I've abandoned my order...
Read moreIf I could give them a 0 I would. This has to be the slowest location in the world. There is no get up and go no drive. Even in the management. Placed my order at 7:10am drive over to the location get there at 7:20 to be greeted by two separate employees saying they all got in late and needed to warm up the machines. All fine and what not bring out my drinks maybe 5/10 min later and tell me my food should be out soon. 8:00 hits and I hit the button because I just saw a car that had been there a little after me just leave. When I asked the employee about it he said I think they just got drinks, they give drinks in brown bags???? He apologized and asked if he could get me anything extra for the inconvenience and honestly even if I wanted something I was worried it was gonna take over 30 min for them to get to me. So finally my food comes out around 8:10/8:15 get home the fries and tots are overcooked and the burritos we got where poorly put together like they rushed a 30+ meal when we are at sonic not like a restaurant or busy breakfast.
