I've attended ACC, Southwestern University, Texas Southern, and Texas State University. Texas State is by far the most impersonal, inflexible of them all. If you have any kind of issue, just know that you'll be met with a machine-like resistance to any compromise. Students are treated with a general lack of compassion. Perhaps they've grown too much, too fast, but this is not a place of understanding. As a military vet, their VA office is horrible at communicating. You would be much better off at any of the other places I've mentioned, as they actually care about helping non-traditional students succeed.
