First time customer. Had the posole verde and it was warm and delicious. The horchata was just right, not too sweet. My husband had breakfast tacos and he liked them especially with the chile verde salsa. Only 2 complaints were the menus without prices which we had to ask for prices on all the dishes we were thinking of getting, plus the unadvertised additional charge for using a credit/debit card versus paying cash which is cheaper. My husband asked the cashier if they charged the extra fee as we know alot of places are doing this now, but the cashier didn't understand or didn't know and just said "No" but inevitably there is a charge for using a card. If an establishment is going to charge extra for card payments then the establishment needs to alert their customers by posting this information so WE the CUSTOMERS can make our own choice on how to pay. When establishments don't post this information it is a devious/deceptive practice and makes customers want to rethink their support for that establishment. We're nickel and dimed enough and don't deserve to be treated as such at local family owned establishments. Please put notices up at this restaurant so your customers know what they are...
Read moreTaqueria Mi Tia Y’all… how have I been sleeping on this place?! Taqueria Mi Tia is the real deal. I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans—delicious. But the real star of the show? The tacos. I ordered six—yes, six—so I wouldn’t have to share with my husband. That’s called self-care.
I got three with corn tortillas and three with flour, and let me tell you, both were excellent. Perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, and full of flavor. I even saved a few for the next morning, warmed them up for breakfast and—oh my gosh—YUM. YUM. YUM. They held up beautifully.
Now let’s talk salsa—that green salsa deserves a standing ovation. Bright, fresh, and just the right amount of kick. The red salsa showed up, but it wasn’t trying to be the main character. That green though? She stole the show.
The service? Friendly and fast. The vibe? Chill and authentic. My husband and I have been on the hunt for a spot like this—for when we don’t feel like cooking but still want something real. We found it.
Bonus: They serve breakfast! I’m already planning my return for some early morning taco joy.
Highly recommend you try...
Read moreA small, unassuming store front on the corner Gattis School Rd. And Greenlawn might have reincarnated my grandma (Ama). I had a few minutes before I had to be at my sub job, so I stopped by and saw they serve nopalitos! I bought 1 full and deliciously greasy taco and took it with me. I say at my desk and opened the foil wrapping to steaming tastiness. I took a bite and immediately thought of Ama. I was almost teary eating this taco. I didn't even use the salsa. I came back the next day to get more tacos for my family. They have adm extensive taco menu but also caldo de res, pozole and menudo! I can't wait to try those! After a friendly chat with the hostess, I found out that the store front opened a year ago last February. The owner had been selling in the convenience store next door before that. I was told that EVERYTHING is made there. I saw three women rolling and pressing tortillas-- HOMEMADE TORTILLAS! They even make the masa in house! I'm so very impressed! If food holds an importantly nostalgic place in your heart, please support this taqueria! You...
