I took a sick friend because she wanted soup and it was listed on the online menu. We walked in and were the only people in the whole place. There was bread/chip crumbs on the floor everywhere. We got to the counter where an employee was playing on her phone and weren't greeted or spoken to. She just kind of looked at us like we were crazy. My friend asked what kinds of soup they had and she said I don't know, I will go ask.she asked and was told they don't serve soup in the summer. So my friend said ok I will take a pimento cheese sandwich with crispy bacon. She didn't want any chips and only a drink and the girl mumbled something to which both of us asked excuse me. She repeated her self and said it's cheaper if you get them as a combo, so ok we did that. We went and sat down as again my friend is sick. A minute later my friend realizes she should have asked for tomato on her sandwich. I walk up to the counter and said young girl is on her phone w her earphones in. I say excuse me and ask her if it is too late to add tomato, she goes to ask, comes back and mumbles that it can be added. A few minutes later she brings out the sandwich wrapped up. My friend opens it and I immediately am like that looks like cream cheese, no shredded cheese and few pimento. She takes a couple of bites and pulls a half cooked piece of bacon off. This is repeated several times before she just took all of the bacon off and says thank goodness I asked for tomato. Meanwhile instead of cleaning or sweeping the floor said young person sits at a table in the front of the restaurant plays on her phone with her earphones in until a family comes in. Needless to say my friend didn't finish her sandwich and was like I am ready to go. Once we were into he car she stated they will never have to worry about...
Read moreWork in Roxboro and eat out for lunch quite often. This is/was one of my regular spots. Unfortunately Roxboro really doesn’t have many quality places to eat. O’Kelly’s can be really good. BBQ and chicken salads can be great. Special sauce on the roast beef sandwich is amazing. Danish and cheesecake are delicious treats. Unfortunately it’s hit or miss. About 1/3 of the time I go here the sandwich bread is obviously several days old. Hard and stale. Sometimes the sandwich is half of what you normally get and looks like it was pressed down hard while being made. Summer/young help doesn’t have any supervision and can be very unhelpful or not deliver the quality you’d expect. I come back less frequently over time because of the regular...
Read moreThe website looked awesome! We drove past the restaurant because the outside display light was off. We went back and should have known by the empty parking lot…we both got roast beef sandwiches with potato salad. The bread was sweet like Hawaii rolls and took away everything from the “roast beef”. The horseradish sauce was too sweet as well. The potato salad tasted like the whole jar of bread and butter pickles were used, again too sweet! Overpriced!!!!! 2 sandwiches with potato salad and two drinks, 28.00! Atmosphere, young people that were nice enough, but would rather be somewhere else. A boy friend was visiting and distracting the girls. Don’t waste your time and money!!! I wish we had gone fast...
