Denny's — Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach

Would love to give a fair review, but sadly we were not even served. Came in late at night to a somewhat packed restaurant. This was fine, we were okay waiting and were understanding and patient. But 40 minutes after placing our order we still hadn’t even been brought drinks. Not even water. We would’ve stayed if we had even been brought drinks, but the bare minimum wasn’t even provided. Restaurants figured out hundreds of years ago that you bring drinks first to keep people waiting. If you couldn’t serve us at your current level of capacity, make that clear. On top of this, from what we overheard and saw for ourselves, two previous customers came back into the restaurant to complain to our server about being either overcharged or charged for items they did not order. Do not come at night until this Dennys does an investigation into their late night crew, because even if you are not forgotten about you may be scammed.

Editing to add that our server also screamed and cursed when she saw us leaving. As if she wasn’t aware of the fact that we hadn’t been brought drinks 40 minutes after ordering, that was a shocking and embarrassing display and a lack of professionalism you don’t expect when you come to any sit in restaurant. Also adding that some tables that arrived after got served drinks before us, but they also had another server so I’m inclined to believe the problem was our server. We have been going to this Dennys location for over 15 years. We are always there late night and usually have Diane as our server, which she is amazing, always remembers us and even remembers what we eat and drink. Tonight we had a black lady as a server and she was beyond rude. If she walked any slower she would have been walking backwards. She did not great us in a friendly way and to be honest, it seemed like she could not hate her job anymore. I had just come from publix and had our doggies ice cream in the car. I asked her if she could please put it in the freezer while we ate. She said we don't have a freezer, and said she would have to walk all the way out back to the freezer out back and then she walked away. We were beyond mad at her response and her lack of caring. We had not received our food yet so I asked for 2 boxes and took our food to go. I asked for a dessert menu. She gave it to me with her unfriendly attitude. When she brought our food I asked where they keep the ice cream that's on the dessert menu. She replied with they have a freezer but she cannot put anything in there. I don't think I have ever met a more lazy, rude person. I told her she should probably find another occupation because this is clearly not the position for her. We visited 6/19/25 and 6/18/25. We came back today on 6/19/25 due to what amazing customer service we received. Lola is the sweetest.Yesterday I believe they were short staffed and this specific employee was helping in the kitchen. What an amazing team player you have. She made sure all customers were satisfied. Even was so kind to have a little conversation with my daughter yesterday and son today. What amazing service and treated every single customer both days with a smile and welcoming words. Today she was helping in the front end answering calls, clenaing tables and running food. We will be back again next week due to what amazing and welcoming customer service skills she presents. Her positive impact on other staff and customers is just heart warming and she deserves recognition!! Lola is amazing and a great team player!! Appreciate all her effort and professionalism to make the dining experience great!

We also had a great waitress today while sitting at the breakfast bar area. Kayla was a smiling, kind, attentive and professional waitress. This will be our regular restaurant from now on!! See you soon.
