This was my second time visiting this place in Royal Palm Beach, so I'm writing this review from experience and really wanted to think my response through before fully posting it. My first time was good, I just left feeling the food was extra salty, but overall the service was good. However, on my second visit, my experience was not the best. First of all, the service was subpar and this time, the food was extremely salty, like they had added tablespoons of it to the food. I decided to let the waitress know about it and she just responded saying that I should've told them first how much salt I wanted before ordering, in such a snarky attitude. As someone who had chosen to eat there, it was not an appropriate answer. In this same instant, I had ordered one plate from their regular menu and a second plate from their lunch menu. Before completing my order, I had asked to change my sides and asked her if it was allowed and she said they could do it, with no mention of an additional charge for the change. However, when the payment came, I was surprised to see an upcharge of $15 for the two sides I had asked for, instead of just adding it to my actual plated order, which already included two sides (as per the menu). Ultimately, pushing my total cost to $65 for only TWO plates (one from their regular menu, $22, and the rest for the one plate from their Lunch Menu). In addition, when taking into account, how tiny these portions already were, given the presentation was for lunch menu plates; this made it even more despicable and disgustingly underhanded to pay such a large amount for such small portions of food that were doused with loads of salt and should not have been that much to begin with. Both visits...
Read moreThe food quality was the worst. I came here for a birthday celebration and we left disappointed.
Ceviche quality was the worst. I make a better ceviche at home. Ceviche Arigato has a better ceviche than this place. The trío ceviche is simply a ceviche with a different color. Red, yellow, and clear. Maybe their flag colors but the food taste was water or they just added coloring to the juice. It wasn’t even tasty, it was no taste, it was water with fish and onions.
The leche tigre was full of chopped onions in small pieces with fish.
The ceviche mixto wasn’t even great. My child that loves ceviche wasn’t happy eating it. The octopus 🐙 pieces were tiny and hard. It tasted like it was overcooked or from the day before.
We didn’t even receive the receipt 🧾 but it is my fault bc I just paid without looking at the receipt but the owner/chef didn’t provide us with the receipt. He didn’t tell us the total nor that the tip was already included. Maybe he heard me say that we were going to leave cash tip so he kept quiet because he knew about that tip was already included and he wanted more. He was not truthful about it.
We won’t be coming back to this place and I’ll post this review everywhere so people know how he really is.
Overall the food quality is horrible.
Go to Ceviche Arigato off NORTHLAKE blvd and compare the ceviche and tell me if I’m wrong.
When we arrive one of their female employee was seating, I guess she was on her break but I would still get up or at least say something or let someone know that there is a customer waiting. Instead she started picking her nose using her phone camera as a mirror. Very disgusting and horrible...
Read moreOur new FAVORITE!!! We JUST realized yesterday evening that this little jewel of a Peruvian restaurant was right around the corner from us in RPB. My husband and I dined at 561Ceviche and were absolutely delighted! Alexiah, the owner's lovely daughter, greeted us with a smile and a small (complimentary!) bowl of incredibly delicious soup. She was gracious and patient, explaining dishes and that their goal is to serve Peruvian cuisine in a comforting, homemade, Mama's kitchen sort of way... This is NOT a fancy place, spotlessly clean but unassuming, and you will feel right at home here. I LOVE Lomo Saltado and Tallarin a la Huancaina, so had a combination of both, and I was SO VERY HAPPY!!! My husband's Mahi dish was cooked perfectly and he INHALED every bite. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, we were offered dessert and shared a piece of Pie de Maracuya (Passion Fruit Pie) - it was LUSCIOUS! The custard was smooth and velvety and I want more for breakfast right now!! The chef/owner spoke with us and was so charming and friendly - He told us they are getting ready to celebrate their One Year Anniversary - We are sad that we missed out on that first year until now, but will be back again and again to sample all the incredible dishes offered at 561Ceviche! Thank you for a wonderful experience and HAPPY...
