I'd been here a few times before. The first thing I'll say is their food is excellent! Love their breakfasts! Yesterday, though, was a different experience. The place is extremely small and there is always a wait. We knew that, so it wasn't a problem. What was problematic was the service. We were seated for more than 10 minutes before a waitress came over. The table of 2 next to us had been there longer than we had, and the same waitress had yet to greet them.
We decided to try the lemon chicken rice soup before we ate a late breakfast (it was heading for noon). It took 15 minutes for us to get the soup, and we only did get it because we asked someone to check on it for us. The soup itself was delicious, but the rice clearly had not been cooked all the way through, leading me to believe that the soup was not yet ready to be served. For $5.99, a bowl I expected better. By this time, the table next to us had enough and asked for their food to go.
We waited a very long time for our food to come. Several tables that were seated well after us were served their food before us. I had the drunken apple french toast. It was supposed to be severed in a skillet. It came on a plate, and the waitress just said, "Sorry, we are out of skillets." Really? You have that few of them after all that waiting? I also requested a side of sausage. I received 1 sausage patty that I was charged almost $5.00 for. I considered asking about that, but by this time, I just wanted to finish and leave.
The bathrooms are extremely tiny. There is one sink that is outside the bathroom for both men and women. The total bill came to almost $50.00 for 2 people. They will not allow you to tip on your credit card. The tip has to be in cash or venmo. If you don't have either, then the waitress will get no tip, so be forewarned.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed. The food was good, but the rest of the experience made us sorry we had driven the 30 miles from our home to eat there. I'm not sure if they are having staffing issues or not, but we would be hard pressed to return...
Read moreI cannot say enough about how amazing this place is. This was my first experience at Anna Marie's and I was using them to cater a breakfast for a work presentation.
From ordering to pick up everything was simple and attended to. Mostly thought up by them as to what was needed. I ended up with two types of pancakes, bacon, home fries, sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, French Toast, and more! They provided individual wrapped utensils, plates, individual servings of Maple syrup, a container of butter and more. It was just incredible. I was opening up bags and finding more and more! They didn't have a large container for coffee so they went to Dunkin' donuts FOR ME and got a big Box of Coffee and all of the things needed to go along with that. Saving me that stop was super helpful. I just cannot get over how amazing they were to work with. They even let me pick it up a little bit early and it was all piping hot and big containers they helped load me up and away I went and my account was thrilled with it. And I have to say the price point was incredible for what I received. I cannot wait to go back there with my wife to just have lunch. If you are a rep for anything and need catering for in-services, then use this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. I am positive they will also be excellent catering a private event at a home or a party so it's not just for professional services I would say for certain. I know who is doing my next family function I can say that for certain!!! Let me also not forget that every person I interacted with was helpful had a smile and I just loved being in the store simply picking up food it's...
Read moreWe returned here for a second breakfast visit after one a few months ago that we remember being generally pleasing. This time we arrived early enough that there wasn't a wait to be seated. We sat ourselves and were soon greeted by a pleasant server who told us she would give us "a few minutes" to review the extensive menus ( a main menu and a supplement). She must have felt that we were reading a tome, because she never did return. After several minutes, after reviewing the many usual and imaginative items, making our selections, and waiting for our mystery server to return, we flagged down someone who willingly took our order. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We found our choices to be good, not great. The cheese omlet was tasty and ample enough that we took some home. The grilled corn muffin was small and too caky for our Southern taste. In an attempt to avoid ordering the same-ol' same-ol' items found in our usual breakfast establishments, I ordered the Avocado Toast. The presentation was quite appealing with Texas toast piled high with cheese, (slightly underripe)avocado, arugla, and topped with three poached eggs. It was delicious yet the accompanying red bliss potatoes were a bit overcooked. We were approached several times during our visit for check-ins and coffe refills by pleasant and friendly staff members, though none by our disappearing server. The prices here are a bit stiff but commensurate with the creativity and freshness of the ingredients. Continuing with my nit-picking, not being a math wizard I found their practice of not tallying the check to...
