Marino's Pizza — Restaurant in Runnemede

Down in Deptford for a softball tournament. Needed something to eat for dinner. One daughter wanted pizza, so started looking. Saw Marino's and read some reviews. Says on their menu home of the best cheesesteak in South Jersey. One review raved about it. Another about their pizza. Let's give it a try. Got a large Margehrita pie and a regular cheese steak. Wasn't expecting what I got. You pull up, and it's this little corner store. Small inside. People are super friendly. Has a nice quaint old pizza spot feel. Watched the cook put an order of chicken finger together. It was enormous. Then someone started making steak. They cut their own rib eye there, and it looked like it. Definitely wasn't steak-ums.

First of all, the pizza had no flop (for all you Dave Portnoy fans). Sauce tasted like something my mother would've made...but better! Wife, two older teenagers, and myself said that was some of the best pizza we have had in a while. We are from North Jersey, so we are quite familiar with good pizza. On Dave's score, 8.3 (the pic is of a slice since they started eating it up quickly).

The cheesesteak lives up to the hype. Wow, was it good. I ordered literally cheese and steak (they have other versions with onions and peppers and such). That was the best cheesesteak I've ever had ( I haven't been to Philly yet, but this did say in South Jersey). Not greasy, right amount of cheese. Just look how stuffed this thing is (the pic is less than half of it). It's good for 2 adults and some kids.

Highly highly recommend this place if you're staying in a hotel near the Deptford mall. It's about 7 min from there. Resonablely priced and you get your money's...

With all the pizza spots in the area and rise in prices, it is hard to know whos worth going to and who's not. I finally decided to give Marinos a try and even just from the phone call i had, i knew it was going to be good. The counter is right there when u walk into this classic, authentic looking pizzeria. Everyone greeted me with kindness, and one of the guys who was tidying up was super friendly and made sure i had everything i needed as good measure helping the person at the counter. The staff was kind and accomodating. But the bigger question: hows the food? This pizza was soooo good. I love a good flavorful pizza i can really sink my teeth into. The crust was fluffy and had plenty of volume, there was the perfect amount of sauce and cheese so ur pizza isnt swimming in itself but is still plenty and full of flavor. And the price was pretty reasonable too. On top of that, the service inside was prompt and quick. The only downside is that it took a little while for them to prepare my order (25 min for a small pizza calling in at 855pm).

I highly recommend this place, and ill definitely be going back to find out what else they...

So all my Runnemede and Bellmawr friends have always talked about how Marino’s was the best pizza place around .. and me , from Blackwood, would always want to patronize my town as my mother thought me . So flash forward to the present .. places have closed , delivery no longer available … a nightmare . Saturday nites we like steak sandwiches and I’m in charge of getting them . After a grueling 6 day , 65 hr work week I don’t have the time or energy to stop and pick up sandwiches…and duh ! I ride my motorcycle to work today ! So I get home and say to my gang “ let’s try Marino’s “ . I call and place our order for delivery to a very polite and friendly young lady who apologized that it may take up to an hr but she would try to expedite our order . I told her it was no problem and we expected that . Less than 45 min the driver shows up ( and goes to the correct back porch door ) . Too make a long story short … 4 of the best cheese steaks and hoagies we have ever had ….and the size …Madonna !! And all less than $10 each … will go nowhere...
