I really love the lodging part. The rooms are beautiful but the problem I have here is the service. When you check in, you are to go to the bar at the restaurant THAT IS ALWAYS BUSY. I booked this place for a second time because the room with the jetted tub can accomodate my tall husband that secretly loves this jetted tub. I booked the wrong suite by mistake so when we arrived at 10pm to check in at bar closing time AND after a LONG drive, I asked Ronnie, the bartender/ concierge about the suite I booked, we were both looking forward to a soak after such a long drive. I had booked a suite with a regular sized tub on accident. We communicated with Ronnie, who was fantastic, welcoming and friendly. We felt welcome, this was the only hospitality we felt this last trip. Ronnie advised me that if I wished to switch rooms to the Beymer Suite with the jetted tub, I would need to come to the bar/ restaurant at 11am when they open in order to do so. The following morning, I overslept and woke up at noon, then ran downstairs they were obviously slammed but I was a bar patron in a seat...I sat down, had my card in my hand but could not get eye contact from the two women behind the bar. Finally, I am asked, "Can I help you?" Isaid the switching rooms part and before I could adk for a menu, I am hit with "Now is not exactly the best time!" Seriously? I'm paying 200 plus a night after taxes and WAS going to order to go food with a generous tip. A 5 star response, this was NOT. So...WHEN, exactly, IS a good time for me, a paying customer to receive customer service? *Edit They did call me back and made sure I was not charged for an extra night, I...
Read moreI had heard a lot about Henry's and how I needed to eat here. When we arrived at about 5:30 PM, there was only one family in the restaurant, but the servers were nowhere to be seen. We had to wait about 10 minutes before someone finally came out from the back. We were then seated, and our server, who admitted that she was newer, was a little awkward and too attentive, though she wasn't overbearing in any way.
The food was reasonably priced, and I ordered a hamburger and my wife got a sandwich, as these were the only things besides seafood on the menu (so if you are into seafood, this is definitely the place for you). The cooking took a little while, but the food, for the most part, was pretty good. The bread for my bun was a little weird, but the burger was good and my wife enjoyed her sandwich.
All in all, it isn't a place that we are necessarily interested in visiting again, but it wasn't bad, and because your only options for a good sit-down restaurant in Rupert consist of this and a few dives, it certainly set itself apart from the competition. I give it four stars because though our experience wasn't overly amazing, the place was clean, the people were kind, and the food was...
Read moreNot sure if it was just an off night for them or what, but it was all around an awful experience.
We waiting 1 1/2 hrs. for our food…as we watched exactly what we ordered be delivered to other tables that were seated well after us. We missed out on the usual bread which was sad when we finally got it. Two of our six orders were incorrect. Of the six, only two were decent. My ahi was honestly the worst fish I’ve ever had (that was before the two days I spent on a toilet from it). The salmon had absolutely zero moisture, and the steak was lacking. The finger steaks were good, but definitely not up to par with what they’re known for.
The service didn’t make up for anything either. The waitress was a little frazzled so I can understand the hiccup with the orders. The management however was running wild all over and having to eventually attend to us and other customers for incorrect charges and even being unable to accept anything other than cash as payment. They couldn’t even accept their very own in-house gift card??? Our only relief was some slices of cheesecake after an absolutely pitiful apology and awkward silence from the management.
Just sad for an iconic local that...
