Except for one review, and now this one, all of the other reviews are old and do not apply to this diner. The previous owner sold and there is now a new diner with a new staff.
We've been there twice now that they've reopened. The atmosphere is nice. The first time we were there (last weekend) breakfast was good and what we expected. It's eggs and toast, so not really a complicated meal.
Today was a different experience. The diner was full when we showed up (11:35 am) and we expected that (two of us). While all the seats were full, there wasn't a line in front of us so we waited for something to open up. After five minutes or so another party showed up (three), and a table for four left and the staff started cleaning. At the same time, a party of six left, although the staff didn't clean that table. So, while we had now been waiting 10-15 minutes, they sat the party of three ahead of us and told us they'd seat us when they cleaned the table of six and broke it down to two tables of two and four.
I don't know about you, but that made no sense to us. We're now expected to wait while they clear other tables. I get seating three at a 4-top table instead of two, but there was another 4-top that they needed to clear. Rather than wait more because they just weren't going to clear that table and seat us anytime soon, and because the restaurant was packed with most people were still waiting to be served, we left.
The staff doesn't appear to be in much of a hurry overall, and while the diner is better than it was before, it's too crowded. They could remove a couple of tables and give people an opportunity to eat their eggs and toast without bumping elbows with other patrons, but that's minor.
We used to spend ~$30 a week there but we won't return. Today's seating issue was a problem and felt very...
Read moreI'm so glad this place is finally here! The food, service and atmosphere is so much better than the previous diner that was here. No longer do I have to listen to Fox News on blast on the TV. No longer do I have to eat the same food that was good but not nearly as good as it now and pay for refills for a fountain drink. Everything is now bright and cheery and there's actually consistency with the hours as the previous owner would close whenever she wanted and this would annoy locals and other potential customers. Food is only slightly more pricey than the last place but the portion sizes and taste more than make up for it. My bf is completely obsessed with their mozzarella sticks and they have breakfast all day which I haven't had a chance to try yet but I definitely want to. Their burgers and clubs are amazing! Our first time there was their second day open and I got the rodeo burger, pictured below, and it was amazing! Absolutely delicious! I want to come here all the time now. Be prepared to potentially wait, especially on weekends, as they're very popular but the service and food makes...
Read moreI keep forgetting this place exists, and I'm hoping that by writing the review it'll stick in my mind. They have the best home fries in a 15 mile radius from here, so if you pick breakfast by home fries, like I do, then this should be your spot. Had their homemade corned beef omelette, and it was solid. Really really good. My wife had French toast and bacon, and she had absolutely no complaints. The bacon was crispy, but not too crispy.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone in the restaurant was treated like a regular. On our way in, we saw a couple leave, and the way they were talking to multiple staff members, I thought "they must be here all the time" to see them drive off in an out of state licensed car. And then we had a similar experience when we were leaving.
This is the second time we've been here, and I'm thinking we need to start making this happen a...
