The Frio Float — Restaurant in Sabinal

Stoped by at 8:30pm to get some ice cream immediately you can tell the two employees couldn’t wait to leave! The one with the short black hair had an attitude everytime someone walked through the door loudly asking her co-worker what time was it as off to imply they close in 30mins. They didn’t have masks on and weren’t enforce mask! Also when my husband asked for and Oreo milkshake the girl with the short black hair was rude and was like there not enough when she some how made enough for another customer! My husband then asked for a cookies and cream cone you could tell she was annoyed for having to make it but did it and magically there was plenty for that and there was still some left in the tub! When we left to get in car we noticed her rolling her eyes everytime someone walked in. I can understand working a long day and being happy to go home but there is no excuse for that kind of attitude especially working in a family...

Frio Float must of been originally located in some far away fairyland once upon a time. The atmosphere/location is wonderfully surprising. The hill country is primitive in nature which is why people enjoy visiting…then you walk into Frio Float (which by the way is a great play on words). One feels you’ve walked into someone’s private dream. Menu selection was vast. Hub and I visited during off-season and service was a bit slow. Hub ordered one scoop sundae which was delish and simple. (Suggestion: offer another nut topping other than peanuts.🥴) I order a rootbeer float which was great (especially impressed that choice of rootbeer brands were offered; A&W or Dad’s). Overall Frio Float was a wonderful experience. Only advice I’d give to parents/grandparents/etc is if you’re planning to take your family expect your child’s’ mind to explode upon entering this fairyland in the middle of nowhere. Bravo to...

BEST ICE CREAM PLACE EVER!!!!!!

I have visited multiple local businesses and never have I been treated with so much love, kindness, respect and true sense of wanting to serve you. Rebecca's and her daughter Grace treated my family like if we were their own. They didn't rush us nor did they feel like my kids were bothering when they asked for multiple flavor test.

They have a great variety of options for your sweet cravings. And one thing that they have that was special for me was lactose free icecream. One of my daughters is lactose intolerant and she was restricting herself from getting ice cream and when Rebecca noticed it she asked why. When we said it was due to her health she immediately told us not to worry because they offered lactose free icecream.

I will definitely take the almost 2 hour drive back from San Antonio just to visit this place again!!!!
