J'S RAILROAD CAFE — Restaurant in Sacramento

We saw mixed reviews on Google. Wanted some Chinese takeout but not just ANY takeout ... something authentic! We were all so nervous....

We ordered small White Rice, Black beans and ribs, Sesame chicken, Mongolian beef and chicken chow mein. As soon as we got the order, we could smell this was not your typical chinese take out!

Wow! Everything was absolutely delicious and so good with authentic Chinese flavors, not the typical Chinese American flavors! We are Hmong and we loved everything! So Delicious and it blew us away that this little place was so delicious!

The only thing we felt could have been better was the black bean ribs were a little too salty but the sauce was perfect. Maybe the ribs were premarinated and pre cooked but made too salty?

Otherwise, we can wait to come back here again and try their other dishes! Do not be misled but the area and the look of this restaurant! Delicious! We are still thinking about the food...

I tried this location because it was the closest. I'm so sorry I don't like to leave bad reviews, but when I got back to work the food smelled so strong of ammonia. The pork fried rice wasn't it either. I took one bite of the beef and broccoli and then started smelling an ammonia smell from the beef.

Needless to say I cut my loss and just went to get Panda and wasted money there. Much safer than getting sick. I will try a different place next time and hope it is not the same. Panda ain't all that either but it's at least what I know is safe food to eat.

Guy was nice but the food maybe left over I got or older meat cooked? I don't know, but the pork fried rice tasted charcoalish to me.

This place is amazing! I was just scanning quickly looking for takeout on the way to the hotel. It turned out to be so much more. The food was quick, delicious, plentiful, and affordable. What I was not expecting is that I stumbled into one of the best honky tonk bars I've seen in years. If I wasn't road tripping with my underage niece, I absolutely would have stuck around to have a beer or six. I think I'ma have to find an excuse to come back to Sacramento just to get drunk in this place and spend the night singing Hank Williams songs. PS: The front door is kinda hard to find.
