Went for a birthday dinner. As soon as my family (family of 5) walked in, we were greeted with a friendly hello. Who turned out to be the guitarist. I thought it was the owner. But so welcoming. The vibe of the place was very nice and very chill. We sat in the outside area, it was after 6 so the lighting was beautiful with the outside landscape. Our waitress was Awesome to say the least didn't catch her name but she was helpful in recommendations. Spot onšŸ‘ food was great. As we left we got a friendly goodbye from whom I believe would be the owner. Over all they really treated us like family. The music was beautiful ā¤ļø I Absolutely recommend Lola's Lounge. Definitely coming back. Thanks to everyone at the lounge for making our first time at Lola's a beautiful one ā£ļø

Maybe our new favorite spot. Very very good food, vibrant chill patio, fun yet intimate decor, great service, good drinks. We got a few alcoholic drinks, pozole, maduritos, Puerto Rican plate, chorizo mac n cheese, horchata cheesecake, probably something I forgot, all fantastic. We saw a few couples, a party with ladies in pink and gifts, a few single people, business attire, basically every kind of group size, age, and people. Perfect music volume to drown out other tables but let you and your table hear each other well. They have the tables spread enough that you have some privacy. Love their decor - eclectic and elegantly done. A local lady said she gave them her old garage door that they transformed into outdoor shade, love that.

Second visit; highly recommend the Boricua appetizer! The Ropa Vieja and Carne Guisada then un flancocho! Yum! I’m so glad that my wife’s friend recommended this place! It’s very good and they have their own style of preparing dishes you would expect from a PR restaurant. Service was great very friendly, though I get the same reaction from everyone who hears me speak Spanish, they respond to me in English 😩. The Mofongo I ordered was very good but I would have enjoyed more plantain in it mixed with the very nice Pernil. Arroz con gandules very good as well. My wife had the Arroz con Pollo, her first try of an authentic PR dish and she enjoyed it. Give them a try! Sangria was perfect!

Very disappointed in this restaurant. As a puertorican, i was really looking forward to trying out this place since there’s not a lot of puertorican establishments in Cali. They have the vision—They’re outdoor patio had a great vibe and their live music was good!

However, from the very beginning the staff treated us very poorly. To begin, we had ordered drinks and our waiter took more than an hour to bring those out to us and he only brought them out after we asked what happened with our drinks. Our server was either not paying attention or something was going on with the kitchen, but the same thing occurred with our food: We ordered, it took more than an hour and when we confront the waiter asking about our food, he says they hadn’t even made it yet so we told him to forget about it. THEN he brings out the food even though we had told him not to. As someone who was a server before, the service in this place was 0/10. It was either that they did not want to serve us or these people were not properly taught how to serve šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

And this isn’t even mentioning that the food here was awful and not authentic at all. So if you’re looking for SOME authenticity, this isn’t the place for it, which is sad to say since the owner is puertorican.

not only did they suck in terms of serving, but there was one girl who seemed like another server who would yell at one of our group members to move out of the way very rudely, and when we spoke to the owner to figure out a solution so that we could be out of the way so the servers could pass by (Their tables are so horribly organized so if it gets packed like it did when we went, there’s not a lot of space to move around), the owner did not try to accommodate us and it took multiple times to get her attention because she would ignore us as well as the girl server and our own server even when there was space in other sections of the patio and dismissed us very rudely. They wouldn’t buss the other tables and accommodate us, even though they could see we were clearly uncomfortable in the spot THEY sat us in.

So, to the owner who reads these, your service sucked and you are the worst representation of puertoricans and the hispanic community with how rude and ill-mannered you treat your customers. Your staff was unprepared and that is on YOU as the owner to manage your employees to provide good service to those coming to support your business. Not all of the staff was bad, some were decent, but between the owner’s bad attitude, her daughter’s attitude, and our waiter’s incompetence the whole night was totally ruined. The least you could’ve done was apologize for the treatment we received. Personally, that’s what i would do if i owned a small business and had my own people coming out to support it, but i guess some people like the owner and her staff are incapable of that as well.

ALSO, they still had the audacity to charge us without our consent for a TIP while still asking for another tip on top of that, which i don’t know how legal that is here in California, but where I used to serve, that’s called theft. It was ridiculous. Food is awful and way too expensive for the portions they give out. ALSO, the worst piƱa colada i have ever tried was here, please for the love of god, do not order a piƱa colada—You WILL be...

The food lacked flavor. The service was a little slow. The ambiance is very nice. I ordered the Puerto Rican special and the rice was cooked good but lacked flavor and so did the meat. Honestly, if they would just add some more seasoning, this may have been a better experience. My sister ordered the Arroz con Pollo and her chicken had absolutely no flavor, but the rice was a little bit better than mine. My sister-in-law ordered the Tito's steak and that honestly tasted the best. The quality of the food was good just lacked seasoning. I am not sure if this just was a one off day or they just under seasoned their food. I have been trying to find a good Puerto Rican restaurant around the Sacramento area or surrounding area for years, but it seems like it's a very hard task. Last but not least the relleno de papa on the appetizer menu was not cooked how they cook it in Puerto Rico. The potato ball was a light tan color. It was hard and crunchy and the meat inside of it...
