Zazon Del Mar — Restaurant in Sacramento

Overall the experience didn't live up to other reviews I had seen, but to be honest all I ordered was 2 fish tacos, although I think that's an item that should be dialed in. The cashier was very nice and welcoming so no issues there. The restaurant itself is pretty dirty, it's not a deal breaker for me but it's a little past what I would say is comfortable for me or most people. I think just wiping everything down well and getting the tiles cleaned would go a long way. But here is the deal breaker for me and the reason why I give 3 stars, which in my mind is somewhat of a bad review. The fish tacos that I thought I had seen online had a white sauce, but maybe they were another type of taco. In any case, I received the tacos and didn't mind, thinking it was some sort of Chipotle sauce. But this sauce tastes like secret burger sauce... You know... Thousand island (without the pickles). Mayonnaise sweetened with ketchup. I would be incredibly surprised if there wasn't ketchup in it. In any case it ruined what would have been a DECENT fish taco. Still not great, but decent. Seeing as I was super hungry I did finish it, and ordered a breakfast burrito for my son because I was picking him up from school right afterwards. He said the burrito was okay and about a 6 or 7 out of 10, it definitely didn't look great for $13. I think the restaurant could greatly improve itself without spending much money at all. Just some elbow grease food quality checks. On a positive note, I did see 2 other guys eating and their meal looked really good. A big plate with lots of shrimp and lettuce and cheese and sauces... Maybe you just have to know what to order. And/or maybe the employee just put the wrong sauce in...

I came here with my husband a few days ago and the service was terrible. We arrived and we were seated and then the waitress forgot to come take our order so we waited a long while. There was hardly any people when we first arrived. Another waitress noticed and came to take our order. We got our drinks but the food was taking a long time. More and more people started to show up so we asked the waitress how long it would be and she said she would check for us and the manager overheard and came over and told us that if we wanted to leave he didn’t care and would gladly cancel our order. My husband and I were taken aback because we had been waiting patiently for over an hour we told him that wasn’t our intention we were just wondering how much longer it would be. He had a really bad attitude and basically told us to just leave if we had a problem with waiting. My husband and I payed for our drinks and left. Michelada was very good here, aswell as the tostada mixta. My bf ordered shrimps tacos and my son a cheeseburger they were also happy with it. The only one that was just way too spicy to eat was Aguachile verde, they also seemed to be prepared with more pepper here and fresh. . Maybe if they were slightly less spicy enough to finish the plate I woulda gave them 5 stars. Hope my review helps. I will still give this place another chance and just not order that...
