I surprised my husband to a fantastic Chinese dinner, He and I had never been there before, and we were really interested in the menu because they have foods that other restaurants don't carry including duck and fish. When you walk into the restaurant the first thing you notice is how clean it is, then you just see the yellow tablecloths and how nice everything is inside the tables are too close together so that you feel like you're dining alone when you're not. I ordered the general tsos chicken in my husband got the sweet and sour chicken and then we both got wonton soups. When they presented the meal they said it on a rack with little tea light candles underneath so not only is your plates getting warmed but your food is also being warmed while you're eating it. It's just a great idea. And then to top it off we had a great waitress her name was Rebecca and she was great since I hadn't been there before I asked her for recommendations and her recommendations were very good. They have a piano a grand piano and she informed us that on Fridays and Saturday nights they play piano on those nights. We are definitely coming back and I'm going to bring my parents next time because I thoroughly think they will enjoy it. Especially if we go in the evening on a Friday or Saturday. Parking was very easy and it was easy to get to and it's right along the Saginaw River.

Terrible customer service. We had ordered two orders of chow mein. When we got home and looked at our food we found that in fact we didn't get any chow mein. I'm not sure what we got but there wasn't any noodles in our dishes at all. I called to let them know and the lady on the phone told be that chow mein isn't a dish with noodles. I let her know that the last time we were there and ordered it we got the correct food. Additionally, on their menu chow mein is listed under noodles. The lady continued to argue with me about it telling me that chow mein means "vegetables". Literally anywhere else you go, when you order chow mein you can expect to receive noodles. I suspect that they just didn't want to have to replace our food and decided to lie about it. Either way, this was some of the worst service I have ever received and would advise against spending your money at this third-rate restaurant.

I love panda house! I used to come here all the time with my mom and sister and they never let us down. The dining space is really open and spacey but also really quiet and nice! I love when they have the piano player in there as well. It just gives the place a different vibe from other Saginaw restaurants. Last time I went I just got a pick up order and it seemed really over cooked chicken but the string beans were undercooked. I asked for 2 vegetable rolls and one had crab in it. I think I just went the wrong day or wrong time because they are usually on point! I just did a take out before that (picture included) & the food was just as amazing as in the restaurant. Also, the boss man is super friendly!

I know I told a fewfolks about this place but I don't think I'd ever posted anything about it. Saginaw Michigan is not exactly known for it being a foodie paradise. We do have quite a few restaurants, but they are mostly chain and or fast food places. I did find a nice spot not to far from my house called Panda House. It's chinese cuisine and it's on par with the finer chinese places from the SF Bay Area. It's extremely clean and the wait staff are absolutely lovely! They are a little different then what I expect in how some dishes are served so it kind of throws me, but the food is delicious and I can't wait for when my out of towners come for a visit and I treat them to this great place. Also, they have live piano music/player Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 8pm I think. Not 100% sure of the hours. But the player I've seen is very talented. This place reminds me a lot of the Bay Area so when I'm feeling lonely and home sick, it's my go to hapoy place. Here's my dinner from the other night. More extravagant then nomal, but I wanted to try something new. I had Broccoli Beef (go to), Almond Chicken (2nd go to), large shrimp with pea pod/snow peas (new), peking duck with wrappers (new). And a cocktail called a Dragon's blood? Or Dragon's breath. First time getting the cocktail. Nice fruity and balanced. Not my favorite, but I'm super picky with my alcohol so I'm not a good one to judge off of. However it was a well made drink. All the food was great. FYI, some of the food normally comes with eggs or bell peppers, but I'm allergic to both so you don't see it here in the pic. The Peking duck surprised me. The skin was super crispy and flavorful while the meat was tender and juicy. Great Hosing sauce with plenty of vegetables. The only thing that really threw me was it was served with something akin to a won ton wrapper or a tortilla as compared to the fluffy white steamed buns/rolls that I've had at every other chinese house I've eaten peking duck at. I'm sorry but I didn't want to even deal with them as they were just wrong and out of place in my mind and my pickyness just won out. Which is ok, I didn't need them anyways. But I really missed the buns. All the food was delicious and makes excellent left overs the next day. So yeah, totally looking to share with my friends when they...

Well, I went to the Panda house for the second time on 6/28/2015... I have been a fan of Chinese food for my life, and my little girls (four of them) are even more fascinated by it. We live in Troy, MI and intentionally go out of the way when we are in Saginaw for The Panda House. They love the Sweet and Sour Chicken so much that they claim it's never enough, and I have tried about 4 different dishes there including Almond Chicken, Sweet and Sour, Pepper Steak, and General Cho's Chicken. All of them were awesome to me! The rice (is how I judge Chinese and Mexican food) and it has been perfect for the last couple of times I went there as it was never over nor under cooked.

They make their own sauces, and will do their own interpretations of traditional (American) Chinese food. I was surprised when Almond Chicken came out with real Almonds on it... and it was awesome!!! Imagine that... Almonds in Almond Chicken!!! :)

I've read some of the other reviews here and I would have to say that the owner's interpretation of Chinese food is really his own and as it should be. He does a wonderful job along with his staff of cooks and waitresses. My entire family loves the way he interprets traditional over played dishes - bringing them to a level of fine dining for a fair price.

I'm making this a stop for when we go up north in the future, and would say the Panda House is the Frankenmuth of Chinese food in MI. This isn't just the best Chinese Restaurant in Saginaw... this is the best Chinese Restaurant I've ever visited, and I'm from Metro Detroit where we have a lot!

I have never tasted anything so good, and couldn't stop eating the food. To say that about Chinese food says a lot!

The owner and waitress (Jackie) has been wonderful for both of our visits. They make the visit worth it, and the décor of The Panda House is very up scale, it's obvious that the owner is not trying to be like the competition. Instead he wants to raise the bar! The owner treated by little girls like Royalty on both occasions, and for that this place has won a place in all of our hearts!

Keep up the great work, and it's well worth the trip even if it's off the beaten path! You'll love this...

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. TERRIBLE customer service... My family has spent SO much money at this restaurant over the years, especially recently. Most recently, I ordered takeout from here for my family. Once I got home and sat down to eat, I noticed there was absolutely no chicken in two of the chicken entrees I ordered, only veggies. I called and notified the worker of the situation and asked what we could do to resolve the problem. The rude worker told me I could drive back to the restaurant and they could remake the meals and add chicken, but that I would have to bring the screwed up meals back because they didn’t believe me. She also offered to give me ONE free meal next time I ordered from them, but I paid for TWO meals that did not have chicken, so why wouldn’t I get TWO replacement meals next time I ordered?? Because I paid good money for these meals, I drove all the way back to the restaurant. Once I returned, the rude employee told me once again that she did not believe me and that her and the kitchen staff didn’t believe that my meal was missing the chicken. Why would I lie about that and drive all the way back in the freezing cold?! Ridiculous. After being accused of lying, she took my food to the kitchen and came out many minutes later. She offered an egg roll to make up for the mistake and inconvenience (implying that they made the mistake, even though she accused me of lying) even though we had already ordered other egg roll with our meals. The mistake is not the problem, but how she handled this situation was extremely upsetting. Horrible customer service by this employee and this restaurant. These loyal customers will not be returning. DO NOT...
