Let me start by saying I loved this place. It’s usually my go to place to go out to eat. But my last 3 experiences have been awful. I understand there’s a staffing shortage in restaurants and I take that into consideration. I ordered one pizza for delivery at noon, I didn’t get it until almost 1:45 (an hour and 45 minutes after I ordered it). Not a big deal, I understand it may take longer with staffing shortages etc. but at the very least if your going to keep your customer waiting close to 2 hours make sure the food is hot and decent. The bottom crust was completely soggy (I mean like REALLY soggy,) and it was clear the pizza had been sitting a very very long time before it came to us. It was cold and the cheese was hard and not like how it normally is on their pizzas. It was awful. My 3 year old who had waited for it and wanted it (it was an earned reward for potty training) wouldn’t even eat it, and was left pretty disappointed. If staffing and delivery is a huge problem maybe they should offer take out and do away with delivery. The same thing happened the last time we ordered for my birthday back in March (everything cold and clearly had been sitting a long time before we got it). I grew up with this restaurant and I hate giving a bad review, but I feel I should warn other potential delivery order customers to just do pick up or not at all. You’ll wait a long time for an order that has been sitting out and is soggy and cold. For one small pizza for 17 bucks I should’ve just ordered dominos, at least it would have been fresh and edible. I’m so disappointed. Unfortunately, they’ve lost my trust and I don’t think I’ll be ordering delivery or even take out from them again. It’s great if you go in to eat, but A restaurant that offers take out and delivery should be able to offer decent food for those options as well. I thought about calling the restaurant, but last time I did (In March) I was told the owner/manager would call me back and it never happened. So, this time I decided it wasn’t even worth it. I think they have amazing food, but they should just do away with delivery and take out since clearly they aren’t able...
Read moreMimmo’s Pizzeria in St. Albans has become my go-to lunch spot during the school week. What started as a random visit turned into a daily habit, and honestly, it’s a great one to have. The food is always fresh, the service is fast, and the quality never disappoints.
One of the best things about Mimmo’s is how quick and efficient they are. No matter how busy it gets, they keep things moving without cutting corners. I can walk in, order, and have my food ready in no time, which is perfect when I’m on a tight schedule.
Their attention to detail stands out. Everything is made with care, from the way they prepare the food to how they present it. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it makes a difference in the overall experience.
The authenticity of their pizza is another reason I keep coming back. It’s not just your average takeout—it's actually great quality pizza. Everything comes together perfectly every time.
Mimmo’s is also a great place to go with friends. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it easy to relax and enjoy the meal.
It’s also a great spot for families. I’ve seen plenty of parents bring their kids in, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. It’s the kind of place that works for everyone, no matter who you’re with.
What I really appreciate is the consistency. Some places are hit or miss, but Mimmo’s is always on point. I never have to wonder if the food will be good—it just is, every single time.
Their prices are great too, especially considering the quality. They don’t skimp on portions or ingredients, so you always get your money’s worth. That’s not something you can say about every pizza place.
Even though I go there almost every day, I never get tired of it. The combination of great service, great food, and a great atmosphere keeps me coming back without hesitation.
If you haven’t tried the St. Albans Mimmo’s yet, you’re missing out. Whether you need a quick bite, a place to hang with friends, celebrate something or a place for a family meal, it’s always one of the...
Read moreWe're trying to support local restaurants during the pandemic. Mimmos was one of those spots that we rarely used to order from, and we weren't sure why. Their online ordering and curbside pick-up made it worthwhile, and their system is excellent. Our first two pandemic orders were fantastic and went almost flawlessly, except for one order where we got the right meals but were missing the add-on meatball. It was busy, so we figured it wasn't a big deal.
A couple of weeks ago, we picked up our order and went home. It's about a 15-minute drive from our house to Mimmos. I went inside, unpacked the bags to find my daughter's salad was the only item that was correct. We had someone else's lunch portion marinara and mozzarella sticks. Our dinner-size bolognese and chicken franchese with added broccoli were missing. The extra salad dressing was also missing. My husband called and was told since we're out of the delivery area, we'd have to bring the food back and pick up the corrected order.
He went back and got the corrected order and a couple of cannolis as an apology. Nice touch, but he should have checked before leaving. He got back the add-on meatball on his, the broccoli on mine, and the extra salad dressing were missing. Not wanting to make a third trip, we opted not to complain and be thankful we had most of the corrected items. Mistakes happen. We get it.
Fast forward to tonight. We placed an order and figured we'd check before we left St. Albans this time. We're glad we did. Again, the extra dressing was missing. The meatball added to one of the dishes was also missing. While I do get mistakes happen, either we're having the worst luck with Mimmos or no one double-checks orders while packing and that's...
