Tim's Place is one of those places that tries to do everything and might actually pull it off. I would say the only frustrating part is you can only get breakfast in the morning and pizza in the evening, sometimes you just want to change it up, but that's difficult to pull off for anyone :).
1st - This star if for the location, decor, cleanliness, etc. All met my expectations for an institution like this.
2nd Star - Information about the place is readily available, their website is basic but exists and their Google Business is up to date. They're on a major route right through town. Parking could be expanded, although where they'd expand I'm not sure, it's just tight finding a spot at really busy times.
3rd Star - The staff immediately greets every time I go there and the place is always in very clean order. The staff checked in multiple times to see how we were doing and the order always are correct.
4th Star - This one is more difficult to earn, often a lot of people ask "was the food good" or "was the food bad". I don't believe in black in white this way. I prefer to look at the food that their business genre/name portrays versus all the sides they don't specialize in. Their pizza keeps up very well with local popular pizza places like Pie in the Sky and Mimmo's. Their breakfasts are extremely reasonable in price during the week and the food quantity and quality is there.
5th Star - Anyone can easily earn this by simply exceeding my expectations. In this case I saw a business that's established and continue to push themselves to hold up their standards. I don't see any gaps in the process developing...
Read moreI give a one star based on my experience today. On 1/1, we arrived as a table of 4 and were very grateful to get a table at Tim’s place when there were no other open diners. The food was as usual, but toward the end of my meal after drinking the water I instantly felt sick. (I can only liken it to the feeling you get in your stomach after taking a big gulp of sour milk).
My water tasted like the smell of a plunger.
I had another person taste the water who said the same thing before I shared how I was feeling. We let the server know we believed there was something wrong with the water and asked if she had tasted it. She took the glass, went to a back room and came back and said “I agree there is something wrong” and went to notify the owner. She came back and said “the owner said the water was fine and there was nothing wrong with the water”. I asked her why she said the water didn’t taste right after leaving with the glass the first time. The whole interaction was nothing short of disappointing - the owner did not bother to come out, we weren’t given new water. I would caution anyone who eats there, it’s obviously at your own risk. If you let them know something is wrong you can expect to be treated with...
Read moreWhen I first moved here, I tried this place after having not been here for a long time I had a terrible experience BUT, my son convinced me to try it again awhile back and it was very good. Today, I brought my husband for Sunday breakfas, it was flipping great! Everything was perfect, I do mean perfect. Anyone who has been reading my reviews knows I am kind of picky about over easy eggs, being over easy not brown. These were absolutely perfect. The sausage gravy in biscuits tasted like I was in the South with a generous portion of crumbled sausage and the lightest fluffier biscuits ever. Bacon yum and my husband never stopped raving about his Irish skillet and the "off the hook" home-made "corned beef hash,so I took a bite of his, wow! I was wrong. This place is better than good, it is perfect. Best breakfast in St Albans. Your only challenge, try and decide what to eat, because it is...
