Boat Works — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

Denied my friend service over what some drunk old lady says. Me and my friends spent a lot of money at boatworks and we’re loyal customers for years. Never in my life received service like that. The real reason was because she didn’t tip the bartenders that good and they already didn’t like her for it. My friend didn’t even get to say what happened with her drunk situation it was just some old lady and some drunk cop who like a lot of the cops in this area come up there. So if you wanna feel extremely uncomfortable knowing there’s drunk cops all next to you and people constantly judging you come up here. Place has definitely went down a notch over the years. This place used to be a staple and somewhere I loved to go sad I will never be giving boatworks my money again and neither will all the people I tell this story too. So, what a night! My gf & initially went to cracker barrell nearby on little mack only to find out that they were out of many things. So after a 20 minute drive around the area, I was reminded by my younger brother that this bar was next door to our moms hair salon. So we decided to stop in a grab a bite with no real expectation of how great it would be. The place was well decorated with Halloween gear however, they kept it nice enough that nothing was "too scary". The atmosphere was cool. The food was even better. I got the giant corned beef sandwich with some curly fries, but I had them season it with their special seasoning (I suggest all try it) my gf got the boat burger and regular curly fries. She instantly regretted not asking for seasoning on her curly fries as well. Food was too good & very reasonably priced. If I'm ever at my mom's salon again. I'll definitely be getting food...

FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE: Gave it one star because I had to. Not the best place to go by any means. Food is mediocre at best from presentation to quality. Poor selection of beers whether it's craft or just the every day run of the mill beverage you're looking for. And the atmosphere... lemme tell you about the atmosphere; A known patron (a regular) decided to show a photo of his genitals to other members of the bar including myself and my girlfriend. When I inquired who the owner was a member pointed him out to me, and lo and be hold, it was the guy laughing and encouraging the individual showing the photo to paying customers.
