As a family we have always loved Snelgrove's Ice Cream. My kids grew up with it. I was excited to go to the new store in St. George, Utah and try it out again after all these years. The waffle cones are the light crispy kind with a marshmellow in the bottom to keep it from leaking as the ice cream gets to the bottom. The Ice cream flavors were exactly how I remembered them, plus some I had never tried before. If you love pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, then you will love their ice cream by the same name. We got to tour the facility and see how they are making the ice cream. It is a small operation right now, but I can imagine with the business growing, they will quickly grow out of the space. C. Laird Snelgrove was my grandpa’s cousin. His dad, my great grandpa Alfred “Snell”, and his family moved from California up to SLC and helped his brother Charles Rich Snelgrove with the ice cream shop when my grandpa Phil was a little boy. We are so happy to find out this store opened by Charles & Laird’s (great) grand children! You are awesome!
My grandpa just passed away at 95, and we came to celebrate his favorite flavors. The ice cream is the quality & amazing recipes we love, and the nostalgia and family history makes this place so meaningful. Thank you for keeping the Snelgrove ice cream legacy alive! Your store is adorable. We will visit every time we are in town!
I attached a picture of my great grandpa Alfred and his son Phil. I love seeing the family resemblance. I’m extra sentimental...
Read moreHello, I hope the owners read this message. I've been coming to get ice cream at Snellgrove for over a year now almost 2 years. When I first started coming, it was $6 per pint of ice cream. The past 3 months it's been raised. From $7.50 all the way to $9 per pint. I've traveled all over the world eating ice cream. And never once in my life have I ever paid $9 per pint. The ice cream is good for the area, but not amazing.
