It’s a nice, clean place. But I think we’re spoiled. The crunchy tuna roll was very boring. Their reader board showed a majority of their rolls dressed with sauces. Ours were not which made them bland. And the order was quite small but under 10 bucks so ok. I had a green salad with house dressing. The salad is the bagged kind but it was fresh and you would think the dressing would be some Japanese delightfulness but it was more like a mild Italian. They got the edamame right but really how can you screw those up. The server was very quiet but efficient. Even though we were the only folks in the restaurant right around 4 pm when they return from their hour break and are closed for an hour, we had a longer wait than I feel we should have. Oh. And don’t drink the water. It tastes like chemicals.

So close to home, really the only sushi and Japanese food/ restaurant for a long ways. With that said, I'm a sushi loving, craving, needing, and obsessed fanatic of all good and clean sushi! I like how small and neat their rolls are (traditional). Organized rolls (if you know you know). The taste isn't as fresh as other places in Portland to be honest. It does not melt in your mouth. I should mention I've dined in many times recently and ordered from them at least once a week. I recently started ordering Yakisoba, Soups, and steak Teriyaki were which were all very good as well. Servers are fantastic, always kind, and get my order right every single time.

I'm just in town helping friends move into this gorgeous town and I walked multiple miles with my cat on my back to eat here and I'm so glad I did. The food was fantastic. I ordered 2 rolls and veggie yakisoba, the standout was the tiger roll and noodles, amazing. You get enough noodles for multiple people and it does NOT need anything, doesn't need hot sauce or salt, it's perfectly seasoned and the vegetables have immaculate char. I cant friggin wait to come back for the donburi!

A Male server server served my husband and grandson tonight at this restaurant, and my grandson made a comment of brown because the sauce for his food was brown. Grandson is a 6 year old special needs child that my husband and I are raising, and we are constantly asking him what colors everything is, so he learns. Prior to eating at this restaurant they had just finished speech therapy for my grandson at Randal's Childrens Hospital and after his therapy every week, he gets treated to dinner out. When my grandson stated the color brown, the server stated to my husband he should teach the boy to have better manners, my husband asked him what he was talking about, cause the grandson was well behaved in restaurant as we have taught him that. He stated we need to teach him not to make racist comments. He said he called him brown. Well if ya want to get technical, even if he was remarking at the servers skin color, that was not a racist comment, as his skin is brown. He did not refer to his skin color in the first place, and also would never say something like that in the first place as we are a mixed race family. Daughter is asian with brown skin and, our other grandson his father is African American with dark skin. This server needs to not assume people are making racist comments towards him. Very unprofessional and completely inappropriate. This server should be fired for even bringing up racism to my husband. If anyone was being racist, it was the server in the first place assuming a young child who says brown about sauce on the plate was referring to them. We will no longer be supporting this local restaurant with business after this experience. we have spent thousands at your restaurant over the years, and never have had an experience like this at any restaurant we have ever dined at. My prayers that this young man will realize the errors of his mistake, and not assume everyone is...

I haven't had any issues with food being slow, but one instance of the server/cashier disappearing when we were done eating and wanting to get our bill to pay and leave. There were 3 men chatting at a table and eventually one came over, the owner or manager maybe, and took care of it when he sensed our impatience.

Also had one instance where I ordered 2 of the "cucumber salad" because I couldn't remember the name (Sunomono - Cucumber Salad), but she I guess misunderstood and brought us actual salad.

Otherwise, the food has always been really good. I am a Basic B and just get chicken teriyaki (to be fair, chicken teriyaki is one of my favorite things to eat in general), and it's so so good. You get some fresh veg and steamed white rice that is yummy. I've also sampled some of their other less exotic Japanese fair too, and it's all quite tasty, imo.

I have tried to like sushi, but I fail. But my boyfriend tried a variety last time I went (first time for him) and he liked some better than others, but I know the one he got with masago on it, he really enjoyed, and said "We can come back here." Which is high praise, in regards to sushi.

I really really wish they would clean up or rehome the sad fish in their gross tank up front though. It doesn't look well and...

If you have never had sushi this place would make you never want to eat sushi again.

If I could give zero stars I would.

It started with the miso soup. Bland with a hint of salt, no seaweed and the tofu had no flavor. More than likely from a powder.

Then came the Poke salad. So typically you get a nice pile of cubed tuna with a little green onion in a light rice vinegar. What we got was bits of tuna, looked like left over ends, on a bed of green onions diced poorly including big chunks of the white part of the onion soaked in soy sauce. The only thing we could taste was onion.

Okay so I was worried now.

I ordered several things in advance and what came out next was what the call a bake roll and a spicy tune roll. The bake roll was virtually flavorless. It was supposed to be a California roll topped with 3 kinds of fish. Nowhere in the description did it state that it was mashed fish in a mayo base then baked. The presentation was half hazard to say the least. Oh and to top it off the rice was actually crunchy and unseasoned. I was done. I didn’t even try the tuna roll but it was mashed tuna and not cuts and there was about 3 times as much rice as fish.

On the plus size, the Diet Coke was acceptable.

DO NOT WAStE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. The service was...
