Ford's Drive In — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

As a trucker I have been to a lot of small restaurants off the beaten path. I have an interesting idea on what food should be.

I ordered the all American with cheese, chili cheese fries with a Dr pepper.

The burger was luke warm and the cheese wasn't melted. There was no seasoning on any of the burger at all. It was bland and the lettuce waa old and wilted.

The chili cheese fries were redeeming. Fries were crispy and hot, and the cheese was the liquid nacho cheese. The chili.... Was unspiced, unflavored bland watery hamburger dumped over the fries. There was water beneath the fries in a puddle. I do not know what St Joseph thinks chili is, but this is not it.

Dr pepper was cold and the price was decent.

Ladies behind the counter were lovely and helpful and the atmosphere, though loud with the tv playing some action movie, was decent enough.

If you want the owner to come up to your car and try and bust in your window and try to rip open your door this is the place for you. My husband and I went there tonight and got a chocolate shake and a strawberry sundae. The sundae was so full you couldn't open it without making a huge mess which we did. So I went back and asked them to remake it. I parked next to the door no one else was there besides us. My husband went inside to get my sundae fixed when the owner came up to my car banging on my window so hard and trying to rip open my door (it was locked). Telling me to move I wasn't going anywhere we had already been there a couple minutes and were about to leave as my husband was coming back outside by the time this happened. I hold off reviewing a place if I’ve had a bad experience until I give them a second or third chance. I’ve been back a few times and it keeps getting worse. The meat on the burger is about as bland as it gets. The bun will fall apart as soon as you pick it up and you’ll have to pull the tomato and lettuce off unless you like soggy vegetables. The fries are a little warm but nothing more than that. They might be ok with some pepper and ketchup but I’ll never know because I didn’t get any after asking for it. (Drive thru). The lady in the drive thru was less than happy to be there; I get it, everyone has a bad day, but at least give a little effort. Your customers don’t have to have a disappointment just because you’re having a bad day.
