Buck's Pizza — Restaurant in Saint Marys

A few weeks ago we decided to switch things up and gave Buck's Pizza a try. We were actually impressed, so again we ordered from there today. Unfortunately today will be the last time. Buck's opened at 3 today so I placed an online order prior to them opening and selected store front delivery for 3:40. I get a call from who was apparently the owner at 3:51 (11 min past scheduled arrival time) saying "we have your order here and for some reason your number is on the door dash slip so I'm not sure if anyone is coming to get your order?". First off, I didn't order through door dash I don't even have the app so if your online ordering system directed my order to them that's on you not the customer. The owner says "well, I'm not sure what to do?". He suggested I call door dash? I replied and said shouldn't that be your job? The customer shouldn't be responsible for figuring out their delivery service. Maybe as an owner you think outside the box and have someone there just deliver it rather than calling the customer and arguing with them. I even offered to go pick it up but wanted refunded my delivery charge and tip. He again said there was nothing he could do bc it went through door dash, which again I ordered from their website?? After a few minutes on the phone he said I'll just have someone bring it out. I said great that works! I get a call back a few minutes later from him again saying someone from door dash just came to get it. Incredibly, I received a text message from the door dash driver telling me he has my order and for me not to get upset with the owner that "it's no biggie, life's too short you know". I'll tell you what's not short, is the list of pizza places in town that are competent. Easy enough for the driver to send me that message when they weren't the one to pay $40 for now cold pizza that arrived at 4:10 when I placed my order at 2:55!!! I see why they went out of business the first go around. Do yourself a favor and order from doughboys, Don's, Dino's, Fox's, pizza hut, Domino's,...

I was a tourist with my wife for the recent holiday weekend, and we were late getting back from a hike. We were not expecting much from this little roadside place, but we were hours-hungry and my wife wanted pizza and a salad. I double checked before I went in that she wanted the spinach salad from this pizza place? Yes. So I went in and got amazing service. I was told about all their specials and chose one. I watched my wife's salad get the freshly sizzling bacon added, saw them cut and box my huge pizza, and we headed to the hotel. Shocked, really, to find such a good slice up there in St. Mary's, and the salad and their own honey mustard was really tasty (ok, it had fresh-cooked bacon on it). I finished the pizza in the car the next day on the ride home, still delicious. Everyone there, from the gal who helped at the register and the young man who made the salad, up to (I think) the two managers with whom I chatted, was really nice and friendly. Buck's Pizza in St Mary's is the best place to get pizza in this town by far! The service and food were both excellent and my family and I really enjoyed everything we ordered. The owners were phenomenal with their service. Don't listen to the negative reviews because most people don't have a clue about how a business works. They do an excellent job!
