Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Saint Paul

I've enjoyed coming here often in the afternoons during nice summer days. Tonight, though, Google Maps asked me about this experience after getting home and what I'll say is this: it's likely the first & last time I'll choose this location for evening.

The same barista who served my drink when I first came, had a very different tone once 8:23 PM came around, and there was still two of us in the lounge area. I was completing a paragraph that I needed to finish & save before leaving the WiFi, but the barista mentioned "ummm, just so you know our store actually closes at 8:30 so you'll need to leave". A few minutes later (maybe 8:27) another customer began walking out and as I was getting my things together to do the same, AGAIN I hear, "mam our store is closing and it's now officially 8:30". I got up and began to explain "I have 8:28 on my phone and I didn't realize they'd been wait-" but was cut off to hear her say over me "yeah, well, actually OUR clock says 8:30, soooo...." (which was accompanied by arms crossed and what felt like a death glare willing me to walk away).

Needless to say, I was not able to save my work, and will not be returning during that shift.

She then felt it appropriate to give a high-pitched, very-forced-sounding "byeee, have a good night" bit, and eyed me down as I was walked to my car. As I turned, I noticed her and the other employee exchanging a look.

I don't think I've ever gotten off at the exact end time of my shift in the food industry, so I don't know - maybe there's a strict rule about getting everybody out minutes before close there, but I've never felt so...

Normally this place is fantastic but this last time I stopped buy for some unknown reason it took close to 10 min to receive my drink after ordering it with h typically take 3 to 5 if there is any line what so ever, yet for this trip I was the only person even near coffee receiving counter while there two store employees talking and giggling together and seemed like they were genuinely attempting to work yet it still took twice as long and was also the most disgusting beverage I have ever received in a coffee shop ever it had to be half full of caramel syrup there there is going to have to.be a decent amount of time before going back there and that's if I ever try caribou...

Not enough help on a Sunday morning. Barista was very slow. It doesn’t bode well when you walk into a store and 3 clerks all have their back to you. So you don’t get waited in and now 5 people are in line. Plus it looked like the pickup orders were also slow. About 6 folks just waiting in pick up. That’s a lot of folks waiting in a small shop. Everyone waiting gets impatient and irritated. You didn’t have enough help, plain and simple. Or close your pickup option for a while, it seems that that is where the problem lies.
