I have passed by this location several times over the last year and finally decided to try this place for the first time. I came by this afternoon with a small group hoping for a delicious dinner. I was disappointed. The portions were far smaller than I had hoped even when considering the low price. The chili cheeze dog my friend had was absolutely terrible. The bun around the hot dog was something I could not even describe as bread. The chili and cheese on it both looked as if they had been squeezed out of a bottle. As he described the flavor "it was decent, but it was not the bestest." He went further to say the cheeze was overpowering and like plastic. The drink he got on the other hand was quite good. He enjoyed the blue raspberry slushie a lot. I got the mini-corndogs and fries with a small lemonade. My entire group heard me say small lemonade with some bystanders also hearing the same. In the end though, what the cashier heard and charged for was the two dollars more small m&m flurry. We decided not to start a conflict over this small problem. My mother had decided to have a cheeze Burger with fries and the mac n cheeze wedges. She described the cheeze burger as being something you could get at any gas station. The mac n cheeze wedges were pretty good. She said they were on her list of foods she would get again. My friend got the chilidog with cheeze curds. He gave me one to try. He and I agreed that they were basic run of the mill cheese curds. That a person could find similar or better at almost any restaurant that served them (or at least in any we have been at.) The final item we all tried was the fries. We shared them and came to an agreement. They tasted about the same as McDonalds fries. Not amazing and not terrible. Overall the experience was a negative one for our small group. The food was slightly cold and memorable for its bad taste. It was not worth the couple miles traveled. The only redeeming features we experienced was the slushie, the price, and the mostly okay taste depending on...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING. I'm upset that I didn't know about it until late this year, because it's quickly become my favorite local soft serve place. I live in South Minneapolis, but when I find myself on the other side of the river, I always make sure to make a stop at Conny's.
What makes it great: Firstly, the price. It's affordable! Especially if you're just getting a cone. They have other things that I haven't tried, but I'm sure I will eventually!
They have 24 different flavors of soft serve. 24 different flavors. I've made it my mission to to try all of them. My favorite so far is the mango, but the cheesecake is pretty good too. Try them all, you won't be disappointed.
They're friendly! The provide great customer service, and they're happy to help you, which is awesome.
Lastly, they have a pup cup option for doggos. When I take my dog, they make sure to always have something for her. She loves it.
All in all, this is a great little place in Saint Paul and I suggest you...
Read moreI've been coming here for years and I've always loved it, prices are always cheap and treats are always tasty. This last time I went they accidentally rang up my order wrong (no big deal, plus the person that did it was very nice and apologetic so no harm done whatsoever) but they didn't know how to fix it so they brought their manager over. I have autism and had gathered up the courage to wear my pin that tells people that I do so that they know I have a disability but the manager saw that and started talking down in this slow, condescending voice explaining everything that went wrong and everything they were going to do it which was super rude and offensive. By the way they were speaking, it just sounded like they assumed because I was autistic, I lacked basic comprehension skills. This is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars, otherwise great all around, just please treat people with...
