I love the bread here. If it wasn't for my mom introducing me to the food here, I would've walked out based on the service alone though.
Very rude, incredibly unwelcoming. I had my service dog with me and they immediately caused a huge scene insisting I have to leave her outside in 90° high humidity weather despite her being a trained service animal. My husband also has his own service dog. Not wanting to escalate, he immediately goes outside, upset. Lost a customer right there.
So I mentioned the ADA protects our right to have them with me and they tried to say it doesn't matter cause they have "open food" (you know this applies to all food establishments right?) and I reiterated that its FEDERAL ADA LAW, not just MN state law, and my dog isn't touching anything, not even the floor (I picked her up on my way in to avoid this exact excuse) and so she makes this awful face, rolls her eyes and begrudgingly takes my moms order but wont talk to me any further. Lost another customer. She and the other employee who had neon pink hair were both incredibly rude from this point on.
My mom has been coming here for quite some time, and this was my first time here. Just moved into town and she wanted to show me around for the day. It turned what should've been a fun reunion into a tense and uncomfortable situation for NO GOOD REASON. It's so disappointing because the bread IS great, but the two ladies working that day were terrible. We literally just wanted to buy bread and leave. It's not like we were staying to eat there or something.
I'll probably help my mom look for a new bakery after this. Such gross...
Read moreJust avoid them. There are so so many great local bakeries in MN this is just a knockoff of them. The bread is incredibly lack luster and feels mass produced. Nothing about this place is authentic and it’s incredibly uninspiring as they have nearly three dozen locations… if you want good bread go down the street to Rose Street Patisserie. They are amazing and their bread and pastries are incredible. To be honest with you the only place Breadsmith is competing with is whole foods. The only semi redeeming factors are their hours and pricing.. they are open when most bakeries aren’t (for better or worse). The cost is also affordable which is nice but even so I don’t think you get what you pay for.. Customer service is nothing special but not bad. The crumb on their breads is also horrible and is often far too dense. Whatever you do just avoid...
Read moreEvery time I’m here somebody cuts in front of me in line and the staff doesn’t care. Whenever I ask for a stamp on my punch card or a new punch card (they’re hidden behind the register now – make sure to ask for one) they act like it’s very inconvenient. Staff I’ve dealt with has never treated me very well. I’ve been there with 3 different employees standing there staring at me and all of them refusing to ring me up, so I had to wait for someone to come from the back. I’m not an unpleasant person or high-maintenance customer and I don’t experience this in other places, so I’m not sure what the deal is. Bread is good, there are a couple other locations in the metro area so I would suggest trying...
