If I had to describe my meal at Nashville Coop in one word I would say “Disappointing”. It wasn’t disappointing in that it was bad, I just expected it to be really good. It wasn’t. I ordered the Texas Toast box and my wife ordered the sammich. The chicken was well cooked and fresh but the the chicken had excessive amounts of dry spice on it. Dark spices like cumin and chili powder don’t taste great in large quantities when uncooked, so they coated the inside of my mouth and gave a bitter aftertaste to the chicken. I ordered the second highest spice level (growlin’) and it was pretty weak. The “Texas Toast” was just a thick slice of dry toast. There was no fat (oil or butter) on it. That’s not Texas toast. It’s just toast. Cole slaw was just alright. The sauce is ok, but other chicken chains have better sauce (chick-fil-a, Canes) The fries were probably the best part of the meal. If I put this meal head to head with Canes for example: Canes would win on coleslaw, Texas toast, sauce, and price. Revival has better Nashville chicken for sure. Nashville Coop is a good idea that isn’t executed as well as it could be. It’s good but not great. The other weird part was that there were a lot of things stored in the dining area. New boxes for takeaway, bottles of soda, a glass display case, boxes of paper towels, and other things give the whole space a cluttered feeling. There are restaurants that do this (Five Guys, for instance) and don’t feel cluttered because it’s all organized neatly. At Nashville Coop there were big boxes on top of little boxes and things weren’t arranged with intentionality.

UPDATE: it was NOT the uptown locations opening week when I came. They have been open for a few weeks during club hours as well!! Been coming to the original location in St. Paul for while now - driving 35 mins away for it. Manager been telling ppl for a while about uptown location to open. I went there today hungry and I'm so sad to say the food was beyond nasty! Fries aren't the same fries served in St. Paul. Just disgusting. I asked before being served was food fresh since i haven't ate all day and was told it was however it WASNT. Called the St. Paul location and spoke to two people. First person tried to tell me the food is the same at both locations until I told him I just purchased from uptown and it wasn't the same. They don't even advertise these fries to social media. Placed manager on phone who said they have different food vendors for each location and to come to St. Paul for the original food. As a customer, it's frustrating to be advertised one thing and to purchase it at another location to see it's not being advertised correctly and it's not the same food being served. Also did not appreciate manager only resolution which is to drive almost 40 mins away to St. Paul and he will give me new meal. Was a fan of this place but after today I will have to give it a rest as the UPTOWN LOCATION DOES NOT SERVE SAME FOOD. I always tip and show love but today it wasn't reciprocated.

This restaurant has been very popular as of late and lining the streets with parked vehicles to the point where it’s hard to find a parking spot! With that in consideration, I figured this place would be through the rough and much better than Raising Canes or similar chicken restaurants! I was a bit disappointed. Flavor: The chicken was decent (I got the cluckin’ hot, I like how they announce it to the store haha), it was a bit burnt on the ends and dry. The spice of the cluckin’ hot was more of sweat hot then a spice hot. I thought adding cole slaw to the chicken sandwich was unique and nice. The bun tasted average at best. The fries were crispy and delicious! Their sauce they used is alright. They do give you chicken tenders that are large and filling. You will not go hungry after eating the meal! Cost: A bit expensive and limited options (which isn’t bad). I can understand at this moment why it’s this expensive with just opening this restaurant though. I don’t believe the food is worth the price though in general. Overall, the place was something different and it sounds like it has some kind of humble beginnings around this area (I believe in Minneapolis, MN) starting as a food truck and I am all for supporting companies like that (especially during these tough times)! I think I might enjoy their regular chicken tenders instead of a sandwich if I were to go again!
