One word to describe this place would be phenomenal! Delicious cheesesteaks and unique pizzas. This place is a must go!
Employees/Location: Employees there are very friendly and respectful. The location is nice and the building is wonderful. It gives me Punch Pizza vibes.
Condiments: I love the variety of sauces and your ability to choose the style of sauce you want and as many as you want at no extra charge. I appreciate the sauces not being your everyday typical sauces you see everywhere as well. The garlic aioli is a must, yum!
Fries: They have an interesting take on their fries. I enjoy fries crispy, but their fries become soggy due to the cheesesteak juices and it appears to be designed this way as “over fries” is in their cheesesteak’s descriptions. I am curious if that is this an east coast style? The Fresh Prince cheesesteak came with a truffle fries substitute which was very salty and delightful at no extra cost, what a deal!
Cheesesteaks: The cheesesteaks are juicy, mouth watering, and savory (cannot wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow). You can tell by my image that these cheesesteaks will easily fill you up! The Supreme was very nice. The buns have an amazing garlic crispy flavor. Warning, you will have to unhinge your mouth to be able to eat these cheesesteaks haha!
Pizzas: The Spicy Tono pizza wasn’t spicy, but rather sweet due to the spicy honey which is a very innovative take for pizza toppings in my opinion. It was very enjoyable, but just make sure you have plenty of napkins as it is extremely greasy and oily. The spicy honey isn’t viscous like typical honey, but watery. I’d like it if this pizza had more of a spicy kick to it than it has so it’s sweet and spicy!
Cost: It appears expensive, but you definitely get the flavor, quality, and portion for the price.
I will be coming back again, most likely with more people as I don’t want to be excluding others on this...
Read moreOut of towner here and first timer. Here temporary. The wait was a bit longer than expected but it's a busy small place. Parking looks like it could be difficult but I lucked out in the lot. I ordered the supreme Philly. One with chicken, other steak. I thought it was topped off with liquid cheese but it wasn't. I guess that's something you'd have to request. Luckily I'm a cheese head and keep cheese dip handy. Of course I dug right into the steak. I took a bite without the liquid cheese first and it was really good but it was even better with it. I used the Doritos Dip. Very flavorful. Nice amount of meat. I don't think the chicken can top it. Hahaha maybe I should've saved the best for last. Their fountain drinks to go is on the smaller end. It'll probably be worth it to stay and eat to get refills. I say save your extra dollars and buy a drink from the gas station. Also, I didn't know what sauce to try so I got them all, not really. Just the garlic, tangy bbq and sweet spicy. The garlic tastes like mayo and garlic not a huge fan but it seems to be the most popular one as it was more empty than the others along with the tangy. The tangy tasted like mayo and BBQ with a kick or thousand Island dressing with a kick hahaha idk. And the sweet spicy is literally honey with a kick, something you'd put on a biscuit. I didn't grab the other because it wasn't touched, that means it probably wasn't the best hahaha. They go well with the fries but I'm a BBQ gal, I'll stick to that. If I were in town again, I'd probably stop and try...
Read moreThere’s nothing like the real thing. This is especially true to those of us with food sensitivities or allergies. We often have to miss out on our favorite foods or suffer consequences that for some can be life-threatening. For me, it’s wheat. I can tolerate small doses, say a slice of pizza, that may trigger uncomfortable reactions if I wish to satisfy a full craving. But it would be unwise for me to consume an entire personal pizza. However, if I need to slake the urge for pizza goodness, I have Tono Pizzeria & Cheesesteaks close by.
Tono has the best gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had. No, it can’t compare to its traditional Italian hand-tossed pizzas baked to bubbly perfection in their stone ovens. Nothing could. Those pizzas are everything you’re looking for and more. Service is personable and friendly whether you are in-store or getting prompt texts letting you know your pizza or cheesesteak is ready for pickup. But if you must get a gluten-free crust, I am one of many people who can confirm Tono’s is the best. Sure, you have to substitute a crust that won’t bubble up and brown on the edges. But the sauce is savory, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. Added bonus — they don’t charge extra for a gluten-free crust like other pizzerias (sometimes as much as $5). The price comparison alone might have brought me back if I wasn’t already going there for great pizza. Count yourself lucky if you can enjoy their regular pizza. But you can also count yourself lucky if you can’t. Tono makes great pizza any way...
