For the record…this is the first time I’ve left a negative review, but my friends encouraged me to do so because I felt very unsafe by the end of the evening. First of all…my friends and I arrived around 9:30pm and within ten minutes my guy friend was kicked out of the bar for “doing drugs in the bathroom.” They followed him into the bathroom and shined a light on him. He wasn’t doing drugs in the bathroom. After my friend got booted, I asked the door men what happened and they denied kicking anyone out, even though I saw the whole thing happen!! After I called them out for lying, they finally said “Oh yeah we kicked him out because he was under 21” my friend in in his 40s… it was so bizarre. I asked my server what happened and she told me a whole different story. So confused. I was here for my best friends going away party, so I drove my friend who got kicked out, home, and then came back. While ordering a drink from the bar I noticed this man staring at me and making noises. I looked at him, and he asked me “are you warm enough?” he kept asking me this, over and over and finally I asked the bartender what the deal is. She said “Yeah he’s a regular and I know he’s super creepy.” He wouldn’t stop staring at me and people at the bar were noticing too. As a former bartender, I took it as a responsibility to make sure that the woman at my bar felt safe. It was disheartening to know that she sees him as a possible danger but doesn’t feel the need to do anything about it. FINALLY….by the time the night was ending and I was waiting for my ride, the door man who kicked out the guy I came in with, ASKED ME OUT ON A DATE!!!!! LADIES-BE WARNED. THIS PLACE IS NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR WOMEN. I will never go back. Super sketchy place, full...

I really want to have a good experience at St.Paul Tap but it seems that they do not want me to have a good time.
For starters, the servers seem to be annoyed that they have customers. As a person how has worked as a bartender and chef, I am confused with their low energy and seemingly uninterested approach to service. During my first visit I asked what was on tap and got a heavy exhale and sigh followed by a "scan the QR code", I tested this on my next visit and got the same response. When I asked what they recommend I received a seemingly untruthful answer on one occasion and on the other a long pause ending with a "I don't know". What is going on with your staff, morale?
I will add that QR codes are the worst technique any restaurant can utilize. It eliminates personal service at the same time setting low expectation of the server service expectations. QR codes is a incredibly low bar technique even for a bar/arcade.
The food was decent but nothing to talk about. it wasn't bad nor was it a stand out, I didn't bother to take left overs home. Pricing was about on par, portions were good, presentation was nice.
As a game enthusiast, I was excited to find a place that could potentially become a regular place for my friends and I. They have a decent selection of games but to be honest, the feeling that myself and members of my group had that we were not welcome by our server had my group and I leave without playing games at all on or two visits.
St.Paul Tap, you have some work to do. I would recommend the getting rid of the QR codes and discuss service with your staff. It would hurt to improve your...
Read moreI was there last weekend with a group of friends from college. After a couple beers I stepped outside to smoke. While heading back in, a bouncer denied my re-entry based off how long it took to get my ID out of my pocket. I tried to reason with him for awhile because I was hardly intoxicated, but quickly realized he had something to prove and it was a lost cause.
He then brought another bouncer out that started to get very aggressive and right in my face, so before ordering a cab, I decided to call and let my friends know what I was dealing with before heading home.
Then out of nowhere, while making a phone call, I was tackled by one of the bouncers and literally drug across the street. I got some bruising on my hip and what looked like a fingernail scratch on my head/neck. This guy had obvious anger issues and should probably trim his fingernails once in awhile.
I just hope those two bouncers don’t end up seriously hurting someone in the near future. Especially the heavier bouncer with the talons. No one should have to fear getting attacked while trying to make a phone call to let their friends know they’re leaving. St Paul Tap definitely lost a handful of customers based off the actions of those two unprofessional individuals and one untrimmed fingernail. Fingers crossed that claw mark doesn’t...
