This is probably my favorite Vietnamese food spot in Saint Paul, and on a street where there are so many, I still think Trieu Chau is the best. Having bún bò huế, which is basically thick rice noodles in spicy broth with flank, tendon, steak and pork, on their menu is already a big plus, so when my friends and I went there, I ordered that right away, knowing that it would be a true testament to their food authenticity. It did not disappoint. The broth was very flavorful and really enhanced the flavor of both the noodles and the meat. I didn't feel the need to add any sriracha or hoisin sauce to anything because by itself it was just solid.

My friends ordered phở tái bò viên and a chicken & mixed veggies lunch combo, and both of them had great things to say about their respective dishes. The phở contained steak and beef meatball, and my friend specifically mentioned that the broth was flavorful, and even proceeded to drink the entire bowl of broth afterwards. Knowing that it's the broth that counts, I believed what he said, and he was a relatively picky eater when it comes to Asian food.

Last time I came to Trieu Chau was more than 5 years ago, and it is great to see that the business is still running. It was also pleasant to see many Asians dropping by the restaurant to have some food during their lunchtime like this place is a neighborhood working class lunch spot for the Asian communities around Frogtown. I would always support the business for that reason. It...

UPDATE: Wow, such bad service today. First, the waitress would have rather looked at her phone than take my order. Then she bussed my bean sprouts and fish sauce away before I was done with my pho (I could not tell her to stop with my mouth full of noodles), then randomly collected just 3 tables' pepper condiments, while we were still eating, no check brought to the table either. Food was excellent but I doubt I'll be back. The wait staff just can't be bothered. Clearly she just wanted everyone gone, not even close to closing time. There are plenty of places to get served pho with kindness. Don't bother going here.

No frills just some of the best Vietnamese in town! Small Diner vibe, lots of windows and all the condiments you need on the table. The Bun salad, was one of the best I've ever had. Homemade meatballs, savory grilled pork, crispy egg roll on top of rice noodles and bean sprouts with all the herbs and vegetables to make it packed with flavor. Real Vietnamese coffee in a phin filter, not premixed in a plastic cup, which so many other places have gone to. Small and accessable...

I came here a while back and I LOVE THIS PLACE! Service is always amazing as well as quality, quantity and pricing! We ordered these dishes a few weeks back. I'm currently here eating again, sitting and waiting for my food.

The pho bring memories from California. The broth is amazingly juicy and rich. I always get #135. The pork w/ shrimp wontons are so good! They're my favorite appetizers. Crunchy yet juicy!!

They only have 1 size for pho and it's a perfect size! This place will always be a favorite for as long as I live in Minnesota.

The beef broccoli was delicious. The texture of the meat isn't as soft and the sauce isn't as thick as served in other restaurants, which I LOVE because sometimes, the beef/sauce may be super soft, slimy and thick that it tastes really gooey.

5 stars in my book. The restaurant is small but I'm okay with that. Definitely recommend.

8 piece wonton is under 5.00 Pho is under 10.00 And they have...
