The Ultimate Collection of Amazing Mexican Restaurants in Minnesota🌽❗

Same location as other patrons, different experience. When we came in there was one person waiting for a Togo order and one group of two were seated and into their meal. I came here because I had gone to other locations before and I enjoyed the food. I noticed two more groups come in and sit in booths across from us. They were seated and given house chips and salsa. We were not. I don’t understand why we were skipped. It clearly was standard practice. I didn’t ask why we just waited for our food. The person who was waiting for a Togo order was still waiting and by now it had to be about 10 minutes, a delivery service came in and picked up a order and The person waiting was a bit upset about the wait. Shortly after that our order arrived. Food was amazing. We got steak tacos, churros, Mexican corn , plantain and the special which was SUPPOSED to be fish and shrimp tacos. The item is on the bottom of a separate menu and it CLEARLY said 3 shrimp, fish tacos. Yet the waitress came back and asked me if I wanted shrimp OR fish. This would pretty much be the same item as from the original menu. Only difference would be there was cheese in the bottom or the shell. PRO: Good food CON: Service isn’t streamlined Like my review if helpful:) Thanks

This was my first time here, and I was quite disappointed. It started when I realized that the only handicap accessible door is kept locked, with a sign saying "Use other door." When I asked one of the servers if it could be opened, she said "No, it's emergency exit only." I pointed out that it was the only accessible door, and she said "So?" and walked away. To be fair, another server was more understanding and did go unlock the door. As happy hour was winding down, I tried to flag my server down to order another drink and an appetizer. She said she'd be right with me, but went to three other tables first. By the time she got to me, it was 3 minutes past the end of happy hour, and I had to pay full price. I ordered enchiladas with no onions or lettuce, but it arrived covered in lettuce. She said she would take it back and have it remade. Judging by the amount of lettuce I picked off the top, I'm pretty sure they just scraped the lettuce off and put more sauce & cheese on top. As for "no onions," well, see the picture. All of that said, everything tasted very good. My pomegranate margaritas were delicious, and I loved the flavor of the enchiladas. All my issues were related to the service.

I never write reviews but they messed up my food so many times and they didn’t even end up making it right that I had to. I ordered a torta and asked if they could not add onions, jalapeños, and tomatoes and if they could put the avocado on the side. I repeated the order a few times to make sure. Everything was fine until I got my food, the first thing I see when i open my torta is everything I asked them not to add. Our server seemed new and I’m a server myself so I understand it can be nerve wracking and mistakes happen. It wasn’t a big deal I just let the server know that it was made wrong. They took my food to the back and just removed the jalapeños but left everything else I didn’t want. At that point i was a bit annoyed since I did repeat the order but again not a big deal, I just go up to the front and let them know it was still made wrong without making a big fuss. Our server was standing with who i’m assuming is a manager and I let them know it was still made wrong and the manager says “we already set the food down” in spanish seeming visibly annoyed. like okay? What does that have to do with my order still being made wrong even though I repeated the order multiple times. I let them know that I did ask them to not add any of those items since the beginning and i repeat the order again. I got my food again and they still added the avocados inside. At that point I just gave up and ate however they made it. I understand mistakes happen but it just gets to a point. Messing up 3 times and still not getting it right? Never had a problem ordering food from this location before not sure why that was a...

I wanted to try a new Mexican restaurant and my girlfriend raved about this place so we went here. After reviewing the menu, I decided on Coctel De Camaron with extra white rice. When it came, it was a shrimp cocktail in a huge margarita glass. I thought it was a shrimp stew that I could eat with white rice. This was not what I would've ordered if I had known it was an $18.49 shrimp cocktail as an entree. The manager did not budge. He said we should've asked more questions and we should've known it was a shrimp cocktail. When I explained I thought it was a stew, he said then it would've been in the soup section. He kept asking if I wanted to just try the cocktail, even after I refused 3x knowing I wouldn't be full from it. He also said more than 2x that we should've known how to read Spanish or asked more questions instead of just ordering. He refused to give me a refund and I left on an empty stomach.

$18.49 tip for the manager: be more understanding and have more patience with people who are not familiar w the cuisine and know they may make a mistake and misread the menu, and it's okay to take it back and give them a refund, which will in turn most likely encourage them to try something else instead of never going back solely because of this one experience.

The server was amazing.

Don't come here unless you can read Spanish and know every item on the menu because if you dont like what you ordered, they will not take it back happily and will...

Definitely, worthy of several visits! I visit a couple times a week, currently! I am a regular, here! I love coming here, sometimes I come to eat even if I’m not really hungry because the food is delicious and memorable! Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are served here! There are always lunch specials, happy hour specials, daily specials for Monday-Thursday, all in expensive and affordable! Regular menu has many authentic dishes that you will surely want to try. Everything is homemade and prepared to TINGLE the taste buds. The establishment and the inner environment are enjoyable, appropriate for family, friends, children, elderly, and handicapped accessible! The floor, tables, chairs, and always clean! Kitchen entrance, order counter, and bathrooms are tended to regularly and are normally well cleaned. Remember handicapped accessible! The staff are truly responsive, respectful, courteous, pleasant, mindful, talented with cooking and greeting customers (right away) of ALL backgrounds and nationalities. ALL ARE WELCOME AT Los Ocampo Restaurant. Finally, there is a small bar for adults! I have been coming to Los Ocampo for a couple years, it’s a safe, positive, environment, for healthy, tasty, affordable meals and appetizers and a drink (alcohol and non alcoholic), all served by an awesomely knowledgeable staff.
