We had our wedding reception at The Lamplighter, and it was positively magical. Andrew and Debbie were incredibly accommodating, flexible, and attentive throughout the entire process. They responded swiftly every time I emailed them in the months leading up to the big day. Going with a 60s/70s decor aesthetic, we wanted to make our invites and accompanying signage really stand out in a fun, retro way. Andrew gave us a pdf of The Lamplighter’s menu from the 70s so that we could incorporate the vintage art into all of our printed materials and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Again, these folks are super accommodating and just embraced every idea we had. Our walkthrough went smoothly and we left with every question answered. We were able to decorate the night before, and Andrew took care of the random things we hadn’t thought of, from bringing out a ladder to finding fishing line to help us hang up tissue ball garland. The food was AMAZING. We went with the gold buffet package and hot and cold appetizers package. Instead of a cake, we served a variety of the Lamplighter‘s pies. Our guests continue to rave about how delicious everything tasted. Debbie even brought my husband and me our own appetizer plate just in case we were too busy to get in line! So thoughtful. The wait staff were courteous, kind, and responsive. The Lamplighter was very affordable, clean, and offered such a high level of service, food, and ambiance. One of main things that sets The Lamplighter apart from other venues though is how they treat their customers like family. My husband and I knew we were in good hands from beginning to end, and that level of dependability is so important in the wedding planning process. I’ll forever be grateful to Debbie, Andrew, and the entire Lamplighter staff for making our day...
Read more4-1-23. I feel like the Lamplighter played an April’s Fool’s Day joke on me and our group!! Food was subpar and it went downhill from there. A few friends had fish and couldn’t finish because it had a ‘old’ taste. One person in the group had a baked potato…. no butter or sour cream. A chicken dish was supposed to have mushrooms, peppers and onions. When she asked where the mushrooms were they said they should be in there. The waitress looked and no mush. Waitress brought a small dis of mushrooms and said the woman could add them. Several people had vegetables. The vegetables were I cold. They took all the side dishes back and brought one bowl and told them to pass them around. The final straw , all of us had a $5 cover charge for the music. When I called, no one said there was a cover charge. There was no sign when you entered saying cover charge. The music was even advertised… no mention about cover charge. I spoke to the manager and said if I was told there was a cover charge, I would have paid it. It’s the principal of it. They were sneaky by never mentioning the charge. They said I should have asked. I haven’t heard of cover charges for years. The singer we went to see we’ve gone to at least 5 other restaurants and never had a cover charge. So to sum it up.. bad food, poor service, rude management and a secret cover charge. There are 8 of us who will never go there again. If you’re wise, you’ll head my advice. One star because you can’t post...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Took my girlfriend here for Valentines Dinner before it got too crowded. We had to wait 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We were finally seated at a booth in the nice dining room. The seat cushion was worn out and very uncomfortable. It was like eating in a morgue, since there was no music playing. A young man waited on us. He seemed very polite, but wasn't dressed appropriately for the job. My girlfriend had wanted to eat here so she could get a steak, but after we had ordered our food, he came back and said they don't serve steak on Thursday. The menu doesn't say that. If we had known this, we would have gone somewhere else. We had chicken, instead. It was not tender and hard to chew. The French onion soup was good, though. I went downstairs to use the restroom and was shocked how filthy the stairs were. There were signs of water damage and possibly mildew at the bottom of the stairs. The restroom needed some serious maintenance and repairs. There are newer restrooms upstairs, but marked "Handicapped". They are probably a lot cleaner. As we ate our food, we noticed several gnats flying around. This tells me that there is an issue with cleanliness. The woman at the desk wasn't very friendly and acted frustrated that the computer wasn't working fast enough. Their equipment was outdated. We had heard some good things about this place, so we tried it, but we will never go...
