El Camino's — Restaurant in Salem

Some would say that I am particularly partial when writing this review, but I as well am known to be a very honest and straightforward person. With that being said, I used to work at this establishment as well as my younger sister, Autumn as well currently works there and I can tell you now not only service, but the food is beyond. Amazing . It will surpass any expectation you have of a Mexican restaurant in the heart of a small town as Salem Indiana. The service is phenomenal. And you just get a family oriented vibe when interacting with the staff. The owner Does not just oversee the business. He is very involved, hands-on and one on one with not only the customer but his employees as well and I can say the same for his wife. If you are wanting an experience where it’s big bang for your buck, please give them a try. You will not disappoint yourself. If I were going to give a recommendation on what to get, I would either recommend the chicken cheese and rice, which is a bit of authentic Mexican rice, filled with mini spices to satisfy your taste buds layered with seasoned grilled chicken, fresh off the grill topped with creamy white queso and if you wanna go a step up, you can add fajita veggies, which is a mixture of bell peppers and onions, fresh off the grill also. I would recommend your classic Mexican dish of enchiladas Verde style which is with the green tangy hint of sweet sauce to top your choice of beef, chicken or cheese enchiladas with a side of Mexican rice. Usually I would give five stars because I really like their food and I've always had really good service here but I would give zero Stars today if I could I called in a pickup order and I got queso and chips you know a large order with my food and every time I've ever gotten queso and chips there's always been salsa for free with it. Today when I got in there to pay there was a $7 charge for the queso and then a $4 charge for chips in salsa and I asked the girl I'm like I don't want the salsa if it's going to be four extra dollars like it's always came for free with it that's why I said yes I wanted it when you asked and she's like oh well you said you wanted a large which I did not say that she asked on the phone when I was ordering if I wanted the salsa with it and I said yes not knowing that she was asking that so she could have $4 to my order and then was extremely rude and not friendly at all whenever I picked my food up was actually a little bit hateful about having to take the $4 off cuz I said I didn't want that salsa if it cost $4 I was already paying $7 for queso and chips on top of you know my other food. But it was absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced at this place usually and every other time I've came here it's been great friendly staff but this young lady was not people friendly at all she had a dirty look on her face the entire time barely even looked at me and when she did speak it was in an extremely rude and hateful tone. My family and I went here twice a week but we will no longer be frequenting this establishment after the incident that occured on 3/14. My family and I were seated at our usual table when my wife told me the guy serving chips and salsa was staring at us and making her feel uncomfortable. The guy was hiding behind the poles and staring at my wife and kids everytime they began to eat. I called my waitress over after seeing this several times for long periods of time and advised her of the situation. She went and got her manager and I advised him of the issue as well. He told me he would handle it. We continued to have issues with him coming near our table and giving our family unwanted looks and smirks. I then called someone over again and requested the GM's phone number. The GM came in the restaurant as I was calling him. As I advised him of the issue and that the guy involved was actually a registered sex offender (after learning his name and looking him up on the registry) the GM told my family and I that he was only doing his job and that he didnt touch us or do anything wrong.
