I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and it’s one of those places where it has its own nostalgia. The building comes alive with its authenticity and vibrant soul. I visited only to buy whole beans from them. The person behind the counter was very nice and knowledgeable. I purchased Ethiopia origin and India origin beans. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a whole lot of flavor out of them using my moka pot. I'm not sure if it's the way they store them, but I expected a lot more flavor for the price. The beans I bought were sitting in huge jars, and they weren't air-tight. The bags they put them in don't have a valve either. I'm a coffee hobbyist and know a bit about beans. The Cherry Bean is a draw to Old Town in Salinas. Awesome. Independently owned. Personable staff. Quality assortment of beverage choices, pastries, fresh fruit, and additional lunch appropriate items. The owner, Todd, was incredible. He supports GIJosie. I was there for a meeting regarding such.
