Mountain Mike's Pizza — Restaurant in Salinas

Staff is friendly but to have my son's 18th birthday party here was a huge mistake 😥 too many restrictions and the room felt like a sauna. Everyone was sooo uncomfortable and sweaty.

#1 is too many damn restrictions with desert. If the restaurant doesn't offer desert for sale, why would it be a problem?

We were allowed to have a cake (thank God!) but I also had cupcakes for the kids; that wasn't allowed. Cakepops were a no. I couldn't even have goody bags. Everything but the cake had to be sent back to the car. Because of it I forgot to give some of my party guests their goody bag. 😥

#2 How are you going to have a separate room for parties and no A/C or windows. It was sooo disgusting having to have my guests sit there in that hot muggy room. Everyone kept going in and out for some fresh air. It was ridiculous. 🥵

#3 One of my guests wears dentures. We couldn't have a plastic knife or a butter knife to cut their food. It was so heartbreaking to see my guest unable to eat. So we went next door to get a plastic knife so my guest could be able to eat something. 💔

#4 They have an arcade for the kids but will not break a bill to give you One's to use at their coin/change machine to use the arcade. That was just plain dumb to even have the arcade if you can't provide change or break a bill to use it. It was sooo inconvenient to look for change at other establishments nearby.

This was such an awful experience. Please be very aware of their restrictions and conditions of the room. 😔

ADDED (Response to Owner): it wasn't "a little" too hot; I gained a migraine of how hot it was and my underarms wear literally sweaty through my shirt (gross!). And I wasn't trying to take in "food" items; it was designed cookies to handout with the cakepops and goodybags that were also not allowed. Your restrictions are a little too excessive. I've had plenty of parties in other establishments and never had experienced such as we did at your location. Also, I had never ever had to sign a "contract" for a pizza and/or dinner party at any restaurant. You're not a hall that I'm renting out for the day and having a dance party with a DJ and required to have...

So I went to the one on main St first it was only 7:30 pm I arrived really wanting a salad and of course pizza and wings I asked the lady for the salad bar she says they closed it for the night so then I asked her what time does the place close she said at 10:00 p.m. and I said you guys are allowed to close the salad bar that early so I ended up leaving to the one on Constitution I called verifying that they had best salad bar and it was open and I pre-ordered my food so when I arrive it's already ready then me and my family eat there when I got there the guy tells me he had to take the salad bar off of my bill I got mad because I came all the way over from the north side specifically for that and I had called to verify I asked since they're salad bar was still up I can't at least get one trip and he told me no so after we had sat down about 15 minutes into eating I look up and one of the employees are making a salad plate I was so mad on top of that every single game wasn't working so my son couldn't play and even though they don't close until 10:00 they kick everybody out at 8:30 p.m. so I was not too happy at all and especially for the...

Pizza is good, employees need training. The attitudes of the employees, and no response from the manager makes me give this a beware ranking. We ordered salads, cheese stickes, drinks and a large pizza, cost was about $80. Very slow to take our order, when the cheese sticks came, they were overcooked and without sause. The "team" was extrememly put out when I requested some tomato sause for dipping... they brought a container with what looked like a spoon of "cold" pizza sause. I took it back to the counter and requested that they warm it up... 5 minutes later it was handed to me... when I said thank you... there was no reply.... I said thank you again... still no reply... just a stare down. Got our pizza, missing toppings... had to do the stare down thing again, after I interupted them crouching behind the counter on their phones. Who ever manages this place really should fix this. I live in the area (1.5 blockes away), and shared my experience with a couple of neighbors... They all have had similar...
